The Miami Dolphins have once again found a way to lose to one of the NFL's top teams, despite staying close most of the game. Miami cannot put 60 minutes of football together lately, and the results mean the team has lost five of their last six games.
Today's game saw the Dolphins play the San Francisco 49ers tough throughout the day, only to watch it all slip away in the fourth quarter. At halftime, the Dolphins were trailing just 6-3, but end up losing 27-13, including two fourth quarter touchdowns.
Miami's rookie quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, went 17-for-33 for 150 yards on the day, with one touchdown. He finished the game with a 74.0 passer rating. Reggie Bush ran 14 times for 65 yards, as well as catching five passes for 38 yards.
Meanwhile, the 49ers saw Colin Kaepernick throw 23 times, with 18 completions, for 185 yards - a 100.2 passer rating. Frank Gore ran 12 times for 63 yards, while Kaepernick added 53 yards on 6 carries, with 50 of those yards coming on one play. Both Gore and Kaepernick, as well as Anthony Dixon, found the end zone on the ground.
Aldon Smith, the NFL's sack leader, recorded two today, bringing him to 19.5 on the season. Wake's three sacks bring him to 14 on the season, tying his career high.
