Dolphins Hold on for 24-10 Victory over the Bills

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins evened the season series against the Buffalo Bills with a 24-10 win against their AFC East division rivals today. The win moves the Dolphins to 7-8 on the season and drops the Bills to 5-10.

The Miami Dolphins held on this afternoon to beat the Buffalo Bills 24-10. The Bills attempted to make a charge late in the game scoring a touchdown in the final period, and threatening for another before a Reshad Jones interception. But, in the end, the Dolphins 24 points in the first three quarters was enough.

Rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill once again showed the potential that made him worthy of the Dolphins' eighth overall pick last April, going 13-for-25 with two touchdowns and a 93.8 passer rating. Tannehill also ran four times for 45 yards.

The Dolphins were able to run the ball against the Bills' defense, totaling 182 rushing yards. Along with Tannehill's 45 yards, rookie running back Lamar Miller ran 10 times for 73 yards and Reggie Bush carried the ball 19 times for 65 yards.

Bush led the team in receiving, with four receptions for 42 yards and both of Tannehill's touchdowns.

The Dolphins defense gave up 381 yards on the day, but also recovered three fumbles during the game. Safety Reshad Jones, who only record two tackles and one quarterback hit, recovered two of the three, while Chris Clemons, picked up the third. Cameron Wake and Olivier Vernon each recorded a sack.

The Dolphins head to New England next week to finish the regular season.
