US PRESSWIRE

The Miami Dolphins trail the New England Patriots 7-3 at the end of the first quarter. But, the story for the Dolphins may be the number of injuries seeming to mount during the contest.

The Miami Dolphins kicked a field goal at the end of the first period to pull to within four of the New England Patriots. However, the story of the game so far may be the injuries that are seeming to mount for the Dolphins.

The biggest of those injuries is left tackle Jake Long, who left the game with a triceps injury. Long went straight to the trainers office, before returning to the sideline with a bag of ice wrapped around his arm. He is officially questionable to return to the game.

The Dolphins have also seen Cameron Wake, Koa Misi, Randy Starks, and Jared Odrick miss snaps due to various injuries. Wake, Misi, Odrick, and Starks have all returned to the game after staying on the sidelines.

The Dolphins were building momentum at the end of the first quarter. Hopefully they can continue that in the second period.
