Hi to everyone out in phinsider land. I'm a uk fan and have followed the Dolphins since the mid eighties as much as is possible from over here.
I've been lurking on the site for a few months now and have decided I should say hello and put forward a view from across the pond.
After last nights debacle, which let's face it, should have been much worse. It seems our greatest need in the draft is in defence. If it was me I'd go for DE, CB & S in the first two rounds before drafting WR.
While our receiver core may not be the best, I think it is serviceable and I would tend towards claiming a proven WR through FA (Jennings anyone?). Lose Long, who is just not performing to a level which he will demand in salary.
But let's not get too carried away, with all the recent changes in coaches and personnel I would have taken .500 at mid season if you had asked me before. But the most exciting thing is that the vibe appears to be on the up and we have some good pieces in place.
So whether we make the playoffs or not, I would like to offer a toast to Philbin, the players and the fans of the Miami Dolphins and lets look forward to the coming years.
P.S. I hope this is ok for a first post and no-one switches off or gets bored reading it.
