I miss my Uncle. He was a good & decent man taken way to soon.
Many of us have a similar story, and during this journey I have heard many. And during this journey i have made many friends. This year I will dedicate my tow three of our own. Strange, Husker, Medic,......I will own the own and eat those miles like candy.
I was introduced straight away when I went to the stadium for my packet pick-up today to a two time cancer survivor. He received his treatment at the Sylvester Cancer Center. He thanked me ever so sincerely about the effort I've put in. Here I reply 'no worries,....glad to help" as I have feelings that I wish i could have done more. That doesn't last long as I see this on the wall.
Think about that for a second. A game has all bought us together to cheer for"our" team, and yet somehow we have moved toward doing something together for the betterment on ones brother. I am humble by the outpouring of support I have received. And "Mad Dog's" kid, Michael, digs my sign too !!!
Slowly the mood is changing from humbled volunteer to half crazed adrenaline filled road cyclist,.....
So when the rubber meets the road tomorrow,....I got just one more thing to say,....
