David Kohl-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Miami Dolphins lead the Cincinnati Bengals 7-6 at the end of the first half. It's been a defensive struggle throughout the day, with turnovers hitting both offenses.

The Miami Dolphins have come back to score the only points in the second quarter of their game against the Cincinnati Bengals and take a 7-6 lead into halftime. The story of the game remains turnovers, though the Dolphins have now gotten on the board with their first defensive fumble recovery of the season.

Miami recovered an A.J. Green fumble only to have it overturned in an officials review of the play. On the next play, Cameron Wake recorded his first half sack of the game, then the Dolphins were able to recover an Armon Binns fumble a couple of plays later.

The Dolphins took the lead on a one yard Daniel Thomas tun, his second TD of the season

Rookie Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill is 7-for-10 for 101 yards with a 102.5 passer rating. Reggie Bush has 9 carries for 26 yards. Charles Clay has two receptions for 30 yards, with Brian Hartline also catching two passes for 22 yards.

The Dolphins defense has two sacks (half each for Wake, Randy Starks, Paul Soliai, and Jared Odrick), but has also allowed 54 rushing yards in the first half, including 40 yards to Bernard Scott on just 5 carries.

Overall, the Dolphins have looked okay during this game, but have to step up more in the second half if they want to put the Bengals away. And, they need to hope the replacement refs decide to start calling things like holding.
