WHO would have Thunk It?

One thing is clear. NO one anticipated this type of team, especially the fans. While we knew the defense would be adequate coming into this season, we had an unproven QB, an unknown WR corp, and more than a few substantial questions about the O-line, secondary, and dare I say....Front Office ?

Yet somehow, we are 3-3. This team has something special. We have long heard about teams that play to win vs. teams who play NOT to lose, and one thing has been constant throughout this season. This team does not quit. Tannehill and HIS team have no give up in them. It appears that the people's choice may just have become the player's choice too. They gang tackle and they stay in the fight until the end.

We all remember Dolphin teams of the past creating near hysteria with a 6-0 or 7-0 start only to lose most of their second half schedule. I remember how that felt. And while I still ache for the 2 close games we let get away this season, something is different about these losses.

They somehow hurt more than those miracle season starts that ended in missing the playoffs, or worse....limping in and getting disgraced in the first round. I knew we had no business being a playoff team those years. I guess I expected less from those teams after such dismal showing in the back half of their season, despite their talent. I know that pain, but the pain of losing those games to the Jets and Cardinals hurt more. Somehow the pain is worse this year.

Have I just got a higher expectation for this team, and if I do.....WHY do I ?

It certainly would not have been all that preseason hype about the Dolphins winning the Super Bowl......No that wasn't it.

It couldn't have been all those fans who said this year's team was a joke and sold their season tickets.......NO that DEFINATELY wasn't it.

It must be the grit of this young team. It must be their will to play and their refusal to quit. It must be their desire to get some respect and respect they ARE getting. I love a team with no quit. They certainly have mine.

That for me is the greatest aspect of our team so far this season, oh and that we now owe the Jets a payback beat down !
