Around SBN: NFL Players Ready To Welcome Gay Teammate

Not Dolphin related, but it is news in the AFC East. Dareus and Williams should be stout as DTs, but I wonder the future of Shawne Merriman. This also adds more intrigue to the draft as players like Courtney Upshaw become less of a factor, but Melvin Ingram could be enticing.

Hmmm

My ex-wife and her husband are stout Gamecocks fans…so I asked them about Ingram. They’re absolutely in love with him and say he’s a beast. I’m starting to like the idea of getting Ingram.

I'm all for Ingram if Coples isn't available.

F**k the Gamecocks!

Sorry, had to. I went to Clemson :)

I don’t like seeing another team switching to a 4-3. I thought 4-3 was the way to go because there is a larger pool of available talent with the huge popularity of the 3-4 in the NFL. At least The Bills pick behind us, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the moved up to get Ingram or Coples.

More of Moore in 2012!

Coples for our new 4-3!

Buffalo can have Coples IMO. He’s a lazy defender. Takes PLAYS off.

I wouldn’t be against Melvin Ingram. Wouldn’t hurt to think about adding one of the blue chip OT’s for our RT spot. Start beating people into submission while keep whoever we have at QB next year off the ground and other offenses on the sidelines.

Oh and Joel311? F**K Clemon! I went to the “U”.. I had to, as well! hahahaha! :)
I remember what it was like with Jimmy Johnson coaching our team. yawn

The U wasn't in the ACC when Jimmy was coaching...

so that really doesn’t make much sense.

Duh, I know that we were not in the ACC then. I was just having fun. My bad…. I’m sorry that I did that on here.
I’ll let you have the place back to your brainy self. But before I walk away…. My sincere and deepest of apologies for confusing you. For the record, I know we were an independant until ’91 (Erickson era). But, thanks for being there to test me and my knowledge of the U. Have a lovely evening…. S

He is their new defensive coordinator for the 2012 season.

George Edwards is the new positional coach at Linebacker in Miami replacing Bill Sheridan.

As for the move to the 4-3 in Buffalo, this move was expected. The Bills were one of two true 3-4/4-3 hybrid teams in the NFL in 2011 and they are simply returning to the 4-3 defense. This move may very well have happened if George Edwards remained on.

As for Joels comment above about not wanting teams to go to the 4-3 defense because of the amount of available talent for the 4-3 scheme, I think that this is no longer the case. From 2006-2009 we saw teams rapidly transitioning to the 3-4 defense, but since it has evened out. They are both perfectly viable defenses and the influx of 4-3 talent in combination with critical 3-4 needs being sapped in Free Agency has induced teams to go back. In todays NFL the breakdown is once again almost even.

When it comes to finding players...

It’s easier finding a 4-3 DE than a 3-4 OLB or a 3-4 NT. Personnel wise, it’s easier to sustain.
