Of course they are, they have futures contracts

Doubt even one of them makes the 53 man roster. They are just camp bodies, nothing more

    Oh no he's not.

You poor sods. Wade was the worst CB in the NFL when he played for the Lions (as ranked by Football Outsiders). You’d be better off putting a tackling dummy out there in the secondary.

Oh they are. They will mostly be for camp fodder and possibly PS guys. Also you often see some of these early signings

dropped later on as they find other random people to pick up to take a look at.

3 or 4 years is the "length of a player" that can stay on the ps!

    Practice Squad Eligibility

A team may establish a practice squad of no more than eight* players who do not have an accrued season of free agency credit or who were on the 45-player active list for less than nine regular season games during their only accrued season. A player cannot participate on the practice squad for more than two seasons.

A player can be on the practice squad a 3rd year....

so long as the team has 53 men on their active roster. If they ever drop below 53 men, the player must be placed onto the active roster.

    Ah.

I wish they would make them a bit larger with teams having the ability to call up and send players down to cover for injury’s. Maybe also give them a bit more leeway as to who can be added to them. I am sure that if I were say a 3 year vet and my choices were to hang around on the PS or go sit at home I would choose the PS.

    I wonder....

if I can get in a practice squad for a few weeks… I’m a little scrapped for cash. I can run around and condition for a few weeks and then be cut for a few hundred thousand.

Our rosters are allowed to expand ...

We are just expanding … most of these people won’t make the 53… but you never know … glad to know we nabbed some guys off other team’s practice squads…

We had [Brady] down… but we didn’t kick him. We helped him up and gave him a PowerPuff Girls band-aid for his knee. What exactly did you expect would happen when we did that?

    Good Signings!

Even before the draft Miami has competition at both safety spots, and I think Nolan Carroll will be cut. All the DB’s signed are fast! Hopefully they can cover as well. Miami also has a nose tackle who spent last year on the practice squad.

    Marcus Thigpen

This guy is listed as WR on Hamilton Ti-cats website, when i watched him this year he reminds me of Darren Sproles. He has big place potential. He has a good chance at cracking this roster as a returner. He was with the bombers in camp and preseason the guy flew. But due to number he got let go and was picked up right away by another team. There are is always 1 or 2 guys that head south every year, last year the feel good story was Brandon Browner Pro bowl CB there is another corner that maybe filtering down Jovon Johnson. Whoever he signs with will be a steal.
