Dan the Man might not have wanted to paint Flynn in a negative light, but it sure seems like he did. Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Franchise Tag on a back-up? I don't think so.

Just a smoke screen.

Maybe McCarthy wants to get rid of Flynn.
And Aaron Rodgers was drafted in the first round, unlike Flynn.

Flynn, Moore, Henne are just stop gaps till the team gets a “real” quarterback.

Yeah, and I truly respect the opinion of Dan.

He’s the best quarterback that ever lived. It doesn’t really seem like the Dolphins have shown all that much interest in Flynn with the exception of Marshall talking to him, but that could just be Marshall doing what he does. Or the Dolphin’s could have a high opinion of him and they could just be keeping it quiet so they can pick him up cheaper all while running up Manning’s price. If Manning is healthy though, it’d be awesome to pick up the second greatest quarterback in the history of football, create the greatest OL in the league by drafting Reiff in the first and then pick up a first round talent next year like Landry Jones to learn behind him.

If they do franchise tag him...

We need to just let them tag him… No way we need to be giving up picks and money for a guy that we don’t really know that much about in the game.

We had [Brady] down… but we didn’t kick him. We helped him up and gave him a PowerPuff Girls band-aid for his knee. What exactly did you expect would happen when we did that?

Philbin was smart enough to let Farve go

I hate to say this, but I’m putting my faith in him to make the right choice for the fins too. Don’t know why, only a gut feeling this guy (finally) is someone that knows talent.

Absolutely

and having coached Flynn for over 4 years, I’m pretty sure Philbin knows him like no one else and definitely already knows if he’s franchise QB material.

This sentence says it all
So if Philbin goes to Dolphins General Manager Jeff Ireland and owner Steve Ross and says he believes Flynn, at 26, is ready to be the man, those words should end the internal debate.

We'd still have to be out the Browns.

They have two first round picks that they can use to move ahead of us. Also, they only have to move up two spots

by SoxDolphin on Jan 28, 2012 5:39 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah,

unfortunately if that was the case, we would be S.O.L. for another season. The Browns not only would be able to give more to move up, but they have a better draft number so the rams would be more willing to trade with them. We would lose out on Luck to the Colts, Flynn to the Seahawks, RGIII to the Browns and Manning to the Redskins. We’d be stuck re-signing Henne and having him battle it out with Moore. Sounds like another lost season to me. Honestly I think the Seahawks will make a major play for Flynn and out of his system, he’ll be like a fish out of water or, in other words, Kolb. Manning won’t want to go to the Redskins with their horrible team. He’d get taken out with more injuries the first game behind that line.

Yeah, I didn't even think of that.

They’d have to draft pretty heavily to improve that o-line though. All we really need is a RT. I really think that he would choose Miami over the Redskins though. He wants to end his career on a high note with a team that may be a contender. After watching the Redskins flop last year, I don’t think that’s with them. They were aweful. Borderline Colts aweful.

If we go after Flynn, it will be because Philbin believes in him. Philbin knows better than anybody whether Flynn could be a franchise QB, so if we go after him, then I will be behind it 100 percent. If we don’t go after him, it will be because Philbin doesn’t believe in him, and I’ll still be behind it 100 percent. If we go after him and don’t get him, I will be disappointed.

Flynn could be the next Brady or the next Kold

that true… but Flynn develops under Philbin schema and supervision, like Brady do with Belichick, and Kold will change to other new schema.
Like I say in other fanshots and fanposts, Flynn will be a really fool man if don’t know his better shot to be a successful QB was under Philbin. That’s I think he could accept a not big contract to sign with Miami.
The most important thing for a QB to develop his potential was the continuity, some QBs has really exceptional abilities and can grow in any kind of schema, and changing teams, but the rule was the QB and the schema grow together and adjust one to each other.

Sign Flynn.

No way are the packers going to franchise a backup. Miami best best is to sign Flynn and use the draft to address other needs. I’d trade down from the #9 position for more picks if possible. Manning is too much of a risk. The key is what Philbin thinks of Flynn. It’ll be interesting to see what philbin does at QB.
