Other Draft options (besides RGIII)

There are many options in the draft ranging from DE to QB. Unless we can get a fair trade with Minnesota or Cleveland and get RGIII we will have to settle with someone else. I love RGIII and hope we exhaust all our resources before getting someone else. We can easily obtain a QB from free agency and if we can't get RGIII there are a couple more options. My personal favorite is Quinton Coples out of NC. With him Wake, Dansby, Starks, and Langford we could have one of the best pass rushes in the league! Also Brian quick seems like a great Reciever ending with 1,096 yards and 11 TD's. This kid is what his last name states QUICK. Two other contenders are Kirk Cousins of Michigan State who played very conservatively and impressively. Or even Brandon Weeden who may be a bit older but still had a fantastic carrer. He will also mature faster than the younger QBs but might not last as long.

Wo would you choose(besides RGIII).

Out of those 4...

Only Coples is worth the #8 pick.

only Coples is a 1st rounder. the other 3 might not even go in the 2nd round. poll makes no sense…

Cousins in Round 2. Trade down from our #1 and then get an extra 3 and draft best pass rusher in 1st.

no one involved with the school says it that way. The chancellor, staff, and everyone else pronounces it the way I said. And they aren’t all from the area, so it’s not just a local thing.

Coples in the 1st, weeden or cousins in the 2nd and quick in the 3rd

RGIII or flynn, whichever one helps us win

would u rather have those 3 ( Coples, Weeden/Cousins, Quick) or RG3 ?

If the question is can we have 3 of them or RG3 I am on board with geting 3 of them...

and sorry if I am going to be the fist to say this but….fanshot. Dude it is only like a paragraph.

Can we just wheel Shula onto the field at the start of ever game being pushed by one of the Miami Cheerleaders? Talk about mixing fear and distraction...

yes thats the hypothetical question

its the guy’s first post
and he has a poll

I like getting 3 of them instead of rg3

I don’t know, I am new, I only have one post that is at least 3 times as long and had a poll. But I took the time to read a lot of this forum before I started posting.

3 rookie QBs?

How many are you going to keep on your roster? All 3? I would much rather go all in with one guy than do weird things to my roster to keep 3 rookie QBs…

We had [Brady] down… but we didn’t kick him. We helped him up and gave him a PowerPuff Girls band-aid for his knee. What exactly did you expect would happen when we did that?

by Jason Scott_90 on Jan 27, 2012 7:59 PM EST up reply actions

One is a DE one is a WR and two are QB's

So if I get to pick 3 then I pick Coples, DE, in the first. Either Weadon or Cousins, QB in the second. Quick , WR, in the third round, if he is still there.

Besides that, I think we would want Tanehill instead of either of those QB’s but that is my opinion seeing as his college HC is now our OC….just my thoughts.

I would rather get the 1 guy

Assuming everyone pans out, think about it. If all three turn out well we have improved our team. The RGIII way, if he works out well we could be one of the elite teams capable of challanging for the Superbowl. And then you have to take into account that RGIII has a much higher likelyhood of being a great player than anyone else we are talking about. This team has enough good players, we need one more great player at QB and we are pretty much set

In Philbin I trust

How ever things play out with the draft and FA I trust Philbin to make the right choices. Speculate for 3 months but bottom line this guy has been around football a long time and he will make the right choices GO FINS 2012

I would explore trading for Kaepernick

And moving down with SF in the first round if they resign Alex Smith long term. Could get Kaep, SF’s 1st rounder, and perhaps another 2nd rounder + for that move. It all depends whether the scouting staff gleans Kaep is ready, or even an NFL QB. Not saying this is a popular move, but I’m high on him and I know Harbaugh & Roman have made public statements about how much Kaep has progressed this year.

As for Flynn, I have absolutely no idea whether he’s the answer or not, but it’s gonna cost a helluva lot to find out (probably at least $20M guaranteed).

Henne is the greatest and the Dolphins will go 14-2 this year and win the SB

If SF resigns Alex Smith

They may target a WR this year since that was a glaring weakness this year. Vernon Davis is a stud at TE, but the receiving core is substandard. This may have as much to do with Smith than anything, but they may be in the market for Michael Floyd or like player. Would need to move way up to get that.

by zeusmith on Jan 28, 2012 9:55 PM EST up reply actions

#8 or #9 is too high up for Floyd though. Too costly for SF as well.

As for a free agency deal for Flynn, it probably won’t be that bad. Even the highly criticized deal Kevin Kolb received from Arizona, when he held a ton of leverage, only landed him $10 mil in a signing bonus.
