smokescreen

I think its just a smokescreen. With Sherman as OC and Philbin as coach, Miami will probably go after Flynn, with Sherman set to bring in the west coast offense to Miami.
and what will sherman tell philbin about tannehill?

good call...

Smokescreen with a future hall of fame QB who started every single game for 13 seasons before having a neck problem and taking a season off. I don’t understand why people don’t want him… He is the smartest QB in the league and he might be a free agent soon. So bring him in for a 3-4 year deal and be relevant for 3-4 years. Then draft a QB in the 2nd round or later and have him work behind Manning for a few years and hopefully he will learn how to be a professional from him. I really believe the best way to get a franchise QB is to have one … then develop another one.

We had [Brady] down… but we didn’t kick him. We helped him up and gave him a PowerPuff Girls band-aid for his knee. What exactly did you expect would happen when we did that?

Because of the nature of his injury

He may never be the same player you remember. “Cleared to play,” is not the same as, “as good as he use to be.” We need to be sure were not buying someone elses finished QB… Again. I’m just shocked we didn’t pick up McNabb.

Many fans want a young gun. Someone we can build a franchise around and this year offers a couple of players that are as close to a sure thing as you can get in a young player. Think back to when we got Marino and how many years he put us in every game he ever played.

The nature of his injury?

What does that mean? What part of his injury will allow him to possibly come back, but not be the same player he was before? Does he have brain damage? Will his neck effect his ability to throw the ball? I am struggling… I will have to go do some research and come back to you…

McNabb was a product of a good offensive system. McNabb is not even on the same level as Manning…. neither are any of the QBs you mentioned either for that matter(Favre? are you kidding me?). How good were the Colts when Manning was drafted? Didn’t they have the first pick in the draft? Yep. And what happened when he was out for the season after 13 straight years of playing EVERY SINGLE GAME? They got the first pick in the draft… again? What was their record while he was there? 117-59.. not bad. While you may point to the team around him, what happened to that team when they lost their QB? He is one year removed from a 10-6 season with a team that proceeded to go 2-14… Why is it that EVERYONE thinks this guy is washed up? If it wasn’t for the fact that everyone thinks that Andrew Luck will be the next Peyton Manning, there wouldn’t even be a question of them getting rid of him if he was healthy.
NECK PROBLEMS? are you kidding me? Are you afraid he won’t be able to look at receivers as quickly? If they say he is “cleared to play” there is a 90+% chance that he will be the EXACT same guy that took that crappy team to a `10-6 record last year…

Thanksboo has told you like it is

The nerves coming from the neck effect all of the muscles of his arm. Damage to these nerves from pressure on them at their root will have a major effect on strength and accuracy. We don’t know the extent of damage, but it effected his strength and accuracy to the extent that they decided surgery was warranted.

What’s to kid about being one of four quarterbacks to lead the league in touchdown passes four times, or 3× Associated Press Most Valuable Player (MVP) (1995, 1996, and 1997; the last shared with Barry Sanders).
11× Pro Bowl selection
6× First- or Second-team All-Pro selection.
Named to the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team. You laugh at this?

I don’t think Manning is washed up, I think there is a possibility he is washed up, and no level of examination will be definitive. It won’t be until he actually plays a couple of real games that everyone, including Manning will know if he is actually the same player.

You won’t get any argument from me about the importance of a great QB, or what I think about McNabb. What I have stated is Manning is a risk, not the sure thing you make him out to be.

Were do you get the fact you stated that “cleared to play” equals a 90% chance that he will be exactly the same? Please send me that link it is something I haven’t read yet.

To see an illistration look at Brachial plexux

or C4, C5, C6,C7, T1

“"Manning has had three surgeries on his neck in the last 19 months, little detail was available, but the information indicates that the procedure may have used adipose (fat) derived adult stem cells from Manning’s own body; this autologous procedure (using your own adult stem cells) bypasses any problems of transplant rejection and is relatively safe. Manning’s adult stem cells may have then been injected around the site of his problem vertebra in the neck, to assist healing and help with spinal disc fusion."

Last gasp, Farve with the Viks

He made a bad throw that ended their season, and went on to look like crap with the Jets. I’m not so sure the same wouldn’t happen with Manning. His injury causes weakness in the arms and hands. This is not good in a QB, and could be permanent. He would still be “cleared to play,” just wouldn’t be able to make the throws he use to be able to make. IMO, Manning is a big gamble, and so for me it would depend on my HC’s watching him work, and the price.

Not that I don't agree with you, I definitely agre with you

But just wanted to correct your history, he went to the jets BEFORE he went to the vikings

Favre did at age 40 take a 10-6 team the year before to a 12-4 record..

And within one game of the Super Bowl… I wouldn’t call that a bust… He didn’t do much with the Jets … but that was a sorry team… So 41 was Favre’s limit? That would give us 5 years of Manning before he reached the same age…

I would also like to point out that while Manning was only sacked 231 times in his career, Favre has been sacked 525. When you take that type of constant beating, you tend to get old quicker…

I'm start to think liek the other Fanshot

Matt Flynn wild land and FA
and if Tannehill still are available in 2nd round we will take him

Other grate possibility was to trade down to secure Tannehill in later 1st round, and have two 2nd rounds to get a OT and a DE

but a lot depends whats happens in next days, until know how was the OC and DC.
