Matt/Ryan to the Dolphins

I just want to go on the record as saying that Philbin's QB Matt Flynn and soon to be OC Mike Sherman's QB Ryan Tannehill will both be signed as our new QB's.....

Flynn to start, Moore to back, and Tannehill to develop

I almost went off

I thought you was talking about Matty Meltdown. I’m getting tired of hearing his name. Until he wins a playoff game he’ll only be an average QB. I can see Matt/Ryan here. If we sign Sherman as OC it would make a lot of sense. I stated this in previous post. I can see all 3 of them as our QB’s.

I like that combo

I thought you were talking about Matt Ryan at first too. I live just south of Atlanta, so while I don’t see many Dolphins games, I see almost all of the Falcons games. And Matty Ice is on the verge of becoming an elite QB, IMO. It’s not just his fault that they haven’t won a playoff game yet. The whole team chokes come playoff time. Atlanta is cursed that way; the Braves, Falcons, and Hawks all perform great in the regular season but choke come crunch time.

Personally...

I think we’re amping up all the talk about going and getting these big name FA QB’s…so other teams that need QB’s will get them…making it easier for us to draft a top QB.

my feelings would not be hurt if they went after luck or rg3 either......for sure

especially with the latest news that the vikes will entertain trade options….

Matt Flynn and Ryan Tannehill?

Interesting. Will Miami sign Flynn and draft Tannehill to groom? To do so Miami would have to trade down from the 9th pick. A good idea in itself and would give miami more top
picks. Only time will tell though.

i could see us drafting a QB if we sign manning or another older vet

But signing a 26 year old Flynn, drafting a QB, AND keeping Moore would be odd. If we sign Flynn, we shouldn’t draft a QB

NO MORE BACKUPS!!

There's a school of thought that says to always draft a QB.

But I agree that we don’t need to spend a high pick on Tannehill if we sign Flynn.

I like this Idea

in ideal case in 3-4 years we can have the same dilemma as Packers have right now.. a grate starting QB, an a player ready to be starter as backup.
In worst case Tannehill could have his shot to be starter with 1 or 2 years of develop behind Moore and the failure of Flynn
but personally I think Flynn will become a really grate QB more if he was under Philbin schemma

by David Leal on Jan 27, 2012 11:31 AM EST reply actions

That's the thing.

If the team sees any possibility that Flynn is not The Guy (and Philbin should know better than anybody) then we SHOULD NOT SIGN HIM.

by PNSter on Jan 27, 2012 12:13 PM EST up reply actions

all FA signs was up and down sittuations to analize

In this particular case Philbin could have a better perspective because he knows better Flynn

but with Flynn have age and healthy as positive factor than with Manning don’t have, I’m really concerns health of Manning’s neck, this kind of injury could cause he lost some sensibility and in consequence his pass game could become less accurate. But yes he could have other few good years, like Montana in Kansas City, but for me the risk and the price was to high… but that’s right I’m not the coach or GM, let them (when the time was right) take the better decision for the team.

I like it but

People think Matt could be a Franchise QB. If thats the case then why get Ryan? If its not the case i wouldnt want my Franchise QB in Tannehill to learn from a backup QB. I would want him to learn from a proven winner. As you can see im saying we should get the Peyton/Ryan combo. I think it would benefit us more now and in the future.

PM was incompatible to develop young QBs

If get PM in FA, forget the idea to develop a young QB, PM ensures to take all snaps and coach-times to him…
That’s other point because I don’t like the idea to sign PM

by David Leal on Jan 27, 2012 1:40 PM EST up reply actions

Peyton hasnt had the chance to help develop a young QB

Curtis Painter was just a primary backup and nobody was calling him the future. With this Peyton would have Tannehill as the future. It could work out…..

The history say other thing...

yes could work, but with the history put bad precedents

by David Leal on Jan 27, 2012 1:54 PM EST up reply actions

Sherman was ON

Now Tannehill become a solid target in the Draft.
I believe the “no official/unofficial” conformation of interest for Flynn, was a confirmation of this, because are a lot of possibilities that Philbin talk with Flynn before he left GB, and Flynn was a fool if don’t see hes better chance to become a successful starter in the league was under Philbin offense schema.
