By all accounts, one of the Miami Dolphins' top off-season priorities is to upgrade at quarterback, either through free agency or the draft.

The Miami Herald reported Monday, citing two people with direct knowledge of the team's plans, that the Dolphins would prefer the former route to the latter, with the ultimate goal of landing Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning -- provided the future Hall of Famer becomes a free agent and is medically cleared to play.

Manning, who missed the entire 2011 season after undergoing neck surgery in September, could become a free agent if the Colts elect not to exercise a $28 million roster bonus he's due by March 8.

According to the Herald, other options for the Dolphins could include Green Bay Packers backup quarterback Matt Flynn, who'll be a free agent, or a draft trade for Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III.

Newly hired Dolphins coach Joe Philbin, formerly the Packers' offensive coordinator, worked with Flynn throughout the entirety of the four-year veteran's career in Green Bay.

If these are the three possibilities! I'd prefer griffin over Flynn over manning, but I think I would be satisfied with all of them...

Miami's Superstars: Reggie Bush, Brandon Marshall, Jake Long, Mike Pouncey, Karlos Dansby, Cameron Wake, Vontae Davis and Sean Smith (just wait), Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Mike Stanton, Gaby Sanchez, Hanley Ramirez, Josh Johnson, Heath Bell, Mark Buehrle, Jose Reyes, Tomas Fleischmann, Stephen Weiss, Jose Theodore, and Chris Versteeg. :)

I have 3 concerns over Manning

1) Salary cap… this guy will want big money, and if other big contracts (Long, Marshall and Dansby) don’t was restructured, the team could not have other additions, and are in danger to loose key players in FA
2) If was his neck really healthy? again, don’t want to spend 15m+ of salary cap warming the bench, Can argue about Bress case, but in this moment Manning was almost 10 years older than Bress wasn’t signed.
3) Grooming young QB, in all his NFL history PM was incompatible with groom young QB’s, because he wants all snaps and don’t spend time with young QB’s

I don't think he will be as expensive as people think...

You give him a good offensive line and he will take us to the Super Bowl. He is going to want to get his 2nd Super Bowl ring to tie match his brother this year. Of all the teams that need a QB we have the best offensive line. We have 3 1st round picks on our offensive line assuming we resign Carey, and if we don’t we will most likely sign a better option. I don’t think we will though and we will lose our last UM player to free agency… how disapointing. I don’t think they would be crazy to draft another O-lineman in the draft. I think we would be better off if we signed a OLB that can put some pressure on the QB.

We had [Brady] down… but we didn’t kick him. We helped him up and gave him a PowerPuff Girls band-aid for his knee. What exactly did you expect would happen when we did that?

Since when is a quarterback who has started two games in his NFL career considered a veteran?

I’d be happy with any of these three, provided we keep Moore or Henne as a backup
