Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

So if you were hoping to switch to a 4-3

hate to burst your bubble but the hiring of Philbin makes this less likely. Whether the new DC comes from Miami or Green Bay they both have one thing in common. Both teams run a 3-4 defense, meaning if the DC comes from either team, we would likely still run a 3-4 defense. This is a positive though, because we are already a very good 3-4 defense, and it would be a shame to rebuild the style of the defense, as we might not be as good as a 4-3 defense. Stop trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, or trying to fix what isn't broken.

OMG

I couldn’t agree more, we have been building a 3-4 since satan. Why change the one part of our team that is just starting to come into their own.

I agree in keeping the 3-4

but not for those reasons. Philbin stated he is going to look at the roster and see what we’ve got. Like you said we are a very good 3-4 defense no need to go around changing what doesn’t need to be changed.

I wasn't giving the reasons we need to keep it ...

I was just giving the reasons I thought we would keep it.

We had [Brady] down… but we didn’t kick him. We helped him up and gave him a PowerPuff Girls band-aid for his knee. What exactly did you expect would happen when we did that?

disagree

Our best pass rusher is not a stand up rusher like Clay Mathews. he’s always in his stance just like a 4-3 def end. we are about to lose our franchise NT as well. Dansby had his best seasons in a 4-3.
4-3 is a better fit.

"I think we can all agree the best thing about this years Superbowl is the Jets aren't in it. The Jets are a lot like the Yankees...everyone hates them. Only they don't have good players, a winning tradition or a coach who doesn't beat off everytime a player gets their ankle taped." - Daniel Tosh

We have a very dynamic front defense

In paper was 3-4 defense, but a lot time during the game they switch between 3-4 and 4-3 schemes, with Soliali have a bit more flexibility for this in game changes, but if he leaves this season I think a guy like Starks can take this place with similar results

Hope the new DC could take this advantages like Nolan do in the past.
