Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

This guy is a beast and he can do it all blocking, running, catching and he's only 26. Automatic upgrade over Hillard in my opinion.

I really like what Hilliard has done.

If you watch some Reggie highlights you can clearly see him making some pretty good key blocks. And he’s already proven he can catch the ball out of the backfield , look to the last part of 2009, our offense just didn’t get him the ball last season. Plus he’s already proven a great special teams player.

Henne will be great!!!!!!!
Marshall, bess and hartline are beast!!!!!!
And the jests suck!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have too many other issues...

to be looking for a back up to our 4th string running back.

Line blocking is are number one issue

you don’t think that a good blocking FB would help that?

i feel like our 1,2 punch is solid and there is no reason to spend more money on the RB position i would rather see us spend the money somewhere else..

maybe on a WR like Garcon, Meachem, or Manningham. Because with Philbin’s offense, there will be a lot of 4 wr sets. One of those wrs with BM, Bess, and Hartline would be exciting

Nah

He’ll be too expensive and we don’t really need him.

we dont need him

Clay is a better FB/TE and hilliard is a better FB/HB.

um............no

These are Tolbets stats as of this season:

ATT YDS AVG TD REC YDS AVG TD
2011 121 490 4.0 8 54 433 8.0 2
On Pace 121 490 4.0 8 54 433 8.0 2
Career 341 1410 4.1 20 109 1012 9.3 6

These are Hillards stats as of this season:

ATT YDS AVG TD REC YDS AVG TD
2011 16 41 2.6 1 5 49 9.8 0
On Pace 16 41 2.6 1 5 49 9.8 0
Career 39 130 3.3 2 26 210 8.1 2

can you please explain how Hillard>Tolbert because I must be blind cause I don’t see it.

The reason I suggested this isn’t because Miami is in need of a RB but a case can be made that it does need a good blocking FB (if you think Hillard is the answer than you need to watch San Diego game again.)

Also Hillard is a free agent this year (granted it restricted) and I don’t see us signing Slaton to an extension, so there is a chance that both Hillard & Slaton can leave leaving us with Bush and Thomas as our only RB. Do you feeling comfortable going into next season with just Bush, Thomas and maybe a rookie FA we pick up?

He is not going to be that expensive, mostly because FB are not in high demand. The best FB in football (in my opinion) Vonta Leach makes a little over $3 million a year so Tolbert can definitely be had for way less, last year he was making a little over a million.

"I think we can all agree the best thing about this years Superbowl is the Jets aren't in it. The Jets are a lot like the Yankees...everyone hates them. Only they don't have good players, a winning tradition or a coach who doesn't beat off everytime a player gets their ankle taped." - Daniel Tosh

If you can get him for $2mill or less then okay. Otherwise I would say spend the money elsewhere.

NY Jets = NFL's Chicago Cubs

There's a fine line between hopeful and desperate. Just look @ Jets fans.
