In the press release from the Dolphins about Philbin's hiring, owner Stephen Ross stated, ""We are thrilled to have Joe Philbin join the Miami Dolphins as our head coach. Joe has all the attributes that we were looking for when we started this process. Jeff Ireland and I felt Joe was the right choice to bring the Dolphins back to the success we enjoyed in the past. I know I join our fans in welcoming him as the newest member of the Dolphin family."

Philbin stated, in the release, "I want to thank Steve Ross and Jeff Ireland for giving me the opportunity to become the head coach of one of the premier franchises in professional sports. I also want to thank the Green Bay Packers for all the support the organization has given me during my time there. The Dolphins have a strong nucleus to build around, and working with everyone in the organization, I know that together we will return the team to its winning tradition. I have seen how much the fans in South Florida care about the Dolphins, and that passion is one reason why I'm really excited to be here. I'm looking forward to their support, and I can't wait to get started."

All the best to him and his family

I like this hire. I thought it was going to be McCoy. Let’s turn this once proud franchise back on its winning path.

In One Way A Winner Already!

What little I know about Philbin so far makes me like him a million times better than I liked the looks of Sparano after they anounced him as the new coach.

That's debatable but even still people do not say those sorts of things when players go to other towns. Its something

made up but the stupid media and those of us from there should know better then to glam on to it.

South Beach is different, but not overrated.

I happen to enjoy it.

FOR REAL!!!

When I read the report that he was the front runner I thought to myself, “Of course he is. Good job Ireland and Ross. The only question now is which team I traded my Dolphins fandom for.” And then I looked at the comments and somebody said literally the exact same beginning. “Of Course he is”….

But if you think of this objectively it was actually pretty funny to think of McCoy getting the job. For years now we have complained about the offense. So last year we bring the Browns OC in after his team had a lower scoring offense than the dolphins.

AND then….

To hire McCoy who basically had no offense, and the only time they scored was because Tebow did his magic act on like 2 drives vs prevent defenses.

Can anyone believe we actually didn’t make the dumb decision and hire McCoy? I mean Philbin might not pan out, but I’d rather have the guy who was a part of one the NFL’s two most potent offenses than a guy who jammed Tebow down everybody’s throat and got lucky.
Still though…I can’t believe we didnt go with McCoy based on how Ross and Ireland do things.

Best Wishes

Ok Joe is the man now in Miami. Let’s give him out support! We needed a fresh start. I hope they keep Bolwes in some capacity, maybe defensive coordinator. I hope Ireland listens to Joe when it comes to drafting players. Hopefuly, Joe will bring in a 1st round QB or a good veteran to compete with Moore. Let’s flush the Parcell gang down the tolliet, or better yet pack them off to the loud-mouth Jets.
