Next HC for Miami?
A few highlights:
In his first year as Denver’s offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach in 2009, McCoy helped Orton reach career highs in every passing category while tying for fifth in the NFL and matching a club record with 10 90.0+passer rating games.
In 2010, McCoy oversaw the NFL’s seventh-ranked passing offense, as Orton ranked fourth in the league with 281 passing yards per game. Under McCoy’s guidance, Lloyd led the NFL in receiving yards (1,448) and earned his first Pro Bowl selection...Running back Knowshon Moreno evolved into an every-down player in 2010 and totaled 1,151 yards from scrimmage...
In 2008, McCoy’s instruction helped Delhomme rank fourth in the NFL in yards per pass attempt (7.9) and register his fourth career 3,000-yard passing effort (3,288). His passing offense featured a 1,421-yard receiving output from Smith...
I appreciate someone who makes Lemonade when handed lemons:
Injuries forced the Panthers to start four different quarterbacks (none for more than three games in a row) in 2007, but McCoy’s group of passers answered the challenge. Carolina became the first NFL team in 10 years to win at least one game with four different starters at quarterback (Delhomme, David Carr, Matt Moore and Vinny Testaverde). McCoy’s instruction in 2007 prepared Moore, a rookie college free agent, to start the Panthers’ final three games and post victories in two of those three contests.
Philbin's stats are equally as impressive but keep in mind Aaron Rogers was a 1st round pick, Orton, however was a 5th rounder, and Delhomme was undrafted, as is Matt Moore....lemons to lemonade.
Also, Mike McCoy has minor history with Matt Moore and made the most of his moments with Marshall, while being molded by McDaniel at Mile High. Maybe he can muster matching milestones in Miami?! Hmmmmm

He has done okay, no doubt/
But those stats and that resume is the first step on the road to being a good coach, not evidence enough that he already deserves a shot at HC.
His offences have never been truly elite. He is only 39. He doesn’t have a huge amount of experience.
I just can’t get behind hiring this guy. Not with the likes of Philbin out there, a guy who has worked with the best at the cutting edge of offence, and who knows how one of the best franchises in the league is run.
This would be a poor hire.
shula was the same age when joe robbie hired him....
just sayin’
Just one mans opinion...

Yeah but Shula was HC of another team before the Dolphins.....
He was 33 when he was HC of the Baltimore Colts. Just Saying! That only helps MagicDolphins argument.
I like McCoy
I will gladly take him or Philbin as head coach.
2012: Whitney Mercilus or Courtney Upshaw in the first round; Nick Foles or Ryan Tannehill in the second round.
Philbin
I think Miami will hire Philbin as head coach. Just maybe it gives Miami an edge above other teams when trying to sign Flynn. And Philbin might bring QB coach tom clements in as offensive coordinator.
This...
That would be a good “package”.

I am for Philbin as HC and Bowles as DC.
If we get McCoy, I wouldn’t be mad either though. If we want to take chances on the draft, why not take chances on a coach? At this point, I just want a coach and the staff to get assembled.
