Crazy Idea that could pan out??
For years Dolphins fans have longed for a Field General that could put the team on the big stage, and carry the team with the talent presented before him. We've traded for them nabbed a few in the draft especially the second round, and have been burned quite too often. We have a stout defense, and this year we've found that offensive coordinator to push us over the top, but one thing kept us in the rut as it has always had since we parted ways with Marino. I have an idea! Some may say thats crazy it's ridiculous man...... Were in no position to get Luck unless he gets by the colts which isn't happening by a long shot since Manning's status is still up in the air.
My crazy idea is quite far fetched in my opinion, but in all reality it could solve out most need spot. There's a possibility it could put us on the big stage and keep us knocking on the door of a championship for years to come when its all said and done. The Saint Louis Rams have quite many needs to fill but it won't all be done over night, but what if we can bring them a package that could help but them in position to raise their once "Greatest show on turf" Would they buy it?? Sam Bradford has shown what he can do with limited talent, hell nearly every receiver he's thrown to is not #1 caliber, just slots and borderline #2's with limited upside.
I'm thinking Jeff Ireland should make a call to the rams and offer them this, some people won't agree but it may help.....Offer the rams this deal, and they may not turn it down, hey it might even have them salivating.
Offer: Give them out !st 8th overall pick our 3rd 5th 7th Brian Hartline, Matt Moore and 2nd in next years draft.
Get: Sam Bradford
Draft: Obtain more skill positions to complete our explosive offense from last year and a few developmental prospects
Free Agency
1. Sign Demetrius Bell [Move to Right Tackle]
2. Sign Mario Manningham [ Big Play #2 Guy]
3.John Carlson [Receiving Tightend]
why Saint Louis "Most Likely" will take this package
1. 2nd overall pick RG3
2. 8th Overall Pick Ryan Kalil
3. Brian Hartline #2 Guy [ can make the occassional big play]
4. Matt Moore veteran back up
5.They have Amendola in the Slot
6. in Free agency they can get that clear cut #1 ala DeWayne Bowe
7. They can trade the picks we gave them and a few to get a 2nd rounder and a position of need
8. a 2nd rounder in 2013 that can really help them

Bradford took a step back this year...
that is way too much for bradford at thip point. I would not have a problem with packaging something a little less valuable for him though. I like yoiur train of thought here.

God I hope we can knock the Jets out of the playoffs, I couldn't imagine despising a team and fan base more.
Go Dolphins!

Bradford was the last guy to get that $80 million contract as a rookie...
couple that with the amount of hits he has taken and the step back he took this offseason and I’ll pass. Also, there is no way Kalil lasts until #8. Even if the Rams pass, the Viks will most likely grab him at #3.

How is that? All that upfront money is on them.
His cap number is 75 mil for the last 5 years (only 4 of it left) but that includes the monies that they gave him up front.
Bradford’s six-year deal includes base salaries of $320,000 in 2010, $405,000 in 2011, $1.205 million in 2012, $2.005 million in 2013, $2.805 million in 2014 and $3.605 million in 2015. That adds up to $10.345 million in base salary over the course of Bradford’s contract, all of which is guaranteed.
In addition, Bradford is due a $2.88 million roster bonus later this month. And the former OU quarterback also will receive a signing bonus of $17.974 million before the start of the 2011 season.
They would have to pay the huge roster bonus before trading him which is probably why it would not happen (ala the same reason Manning will not be traded). If they were in fact stupid enough to trade him even with all that base salary being guaranteed he would be a real bargain. The other choice they would have would be to cut him before the roster bonus is paid. I don’t see that happening either.
