He could have. All he had to do was accept the Dolphins coaching position. Kind of contradictory if you ask me.

That said I was a big fan of Fishers as a coach, but didn’t want him making personnel decisions. So I think this worked out for the best.

I think this is him just being polite after he decided against the phins job.

If he liked Ireland so much he could have worked with him on the personnel.

Does anyone think there is a player, or players, that Fisher and Ireland disagreed on? Bush? Marshall?

There is a reason why it is said Fisher is liked by everyone in the NFL.

If he thinks so highly of Ireland. Then offer him a job with the Rams. This is the PC thing to say. Why would Fisher want final say then? If he liked Ireland so much.

Fisher turned us down. That is a fact. Widely reported that we had the edge in hiring him if he had some say in the roster make up. You are old enough and have worked in areas similar to me. You can’t believe this is how the world works? Fisher is going to say and do all the right things. It is a Fact that Fisher is well respected by most everyone in the NFL. Except maybe Bud Adams and Vince Young.

An of course he is going to say Ireland is a great guy. Ireland is the Paper GM of a team he was looking to be employed by. When the decision was made to pick us or the Rams Fisher choose the Rams. Fact. It has been widely reported that his decision was based upon not having any say over personnel. I say that is a Fact. Adam Shefter is one of the best in the Biz. He is also the one saying Jeff and Jeff are buds. He is also the one saying Fisher wanted some say in roster decisions. So theory AKA (Foil Hats) and such is easily formed into fact.

Its like being placed in the Friend Zone by the hot chick. Better yet. Ireland has a really great personality. He is just not that pretty.

It would have been nice to have the Jeff with a way with words instead of the other one.

This has made Miami look bad seeing as most people seem to think Miami were 80% to get him. The more things like this that happens, the harder it’ll be to get a reputable coach.

I like a lot of people too, but that doesn't necessarily mean I would want to work with them or for them.

What Fisher is saying is all spin. If Ireland had done his job better, loaded the roster with talent, found a franchise QB, then Fisher would be here.

Fisher went to St. Louis because he felt he had a better chance to win there than in Miami. That’s a reflection on the organizational setup and the talent in Miami. That is a reflection on the GM, IMO. I don’t know how that can be seen any other way.

Coaching matters a lot. Coaching Staffs matter a lot. I don’t think Sparano or his staff were very good.

Whats everyones deal with Ireland?

He did a good job with his first year as the final say guy.. He hasnt found a franchise qb because he hasnt gone out and tried to get one.. Henne and White were parcells picks. He went with Henne this year because Sparano believed in Henne. what like 6/7 of his picks in this last years draft were good contributers.. Give him some time and he will find our guy.

really i mean my goodness cant we just waait and see what he does this year which is year two on his own and see what he brings us before we tar and father the guy.. i mean pleace.. look if he bombs it up this time around then i will be the first to hop the band wagon.. but i am not going to judge the guy till i can see more of what he can do standing in the drivers seat. from what i saw this year i feel he has earned it. but that doesnt mean that he can lay down and go soft….but if he does the same thing for us this draft as he did last draft and fills in holes and finds a few more surpises so to speak like a top young qb would be nice but if he feels he needs to go another direction i will give him support untill the end of the season to see how the team turns out..
