As I said in the other post Im assuming that this means that it will be Mike Zimmer.
“Chudzinski wasn’t interviewed.
The Dolphins interviewed 5 candidates: Fisher who is the number 1 choice, Philibin who is now out of the question (and rightfully so, his matters make this coaching search trivial in comparison), Todd Bowles who is a long shot at best (and probably was only interviewed for the position as cruel as it is to fulfil the teams minority obligation). That leaves Dave Toub and Mike Zimmer of which I am suspecting Zimmer is the more highly valued of the two.
The team also requested an interview I believe with Dennis Allen as the Rams did but The Broncos won so both clubs had to scrap their interviews (at least temporarily). Im suspecting that if Fisher goes to St. Louis, Zimmer or Toub will be signed very soon after."

this is a fucking joke.
the only reason I’ve been keeping up with this is because I LOVE the Dolphins and the anticipation of finding a new coach was killing me.
I’ve been against going after guys with the “name” for a while. If I had my pick we would have gone after someone like Chudzinski (although I’m now against that because of what I’ve heard about him not being the most vocal leader).
Fisher I would have accepted because of how much “stability” he would have brought. But this whole delayed decision thing really screwed us over.
If anyone has a problem being “on time” it’s me. I’m always late. Sometimes it’s my fault, and sometimes it’s not. But when it’s not my fault, I don’t get the benefit of the doubt.
This seems like it’s going to be the case with the Dolphins. Ross and Co got screwed by Fisher and it’s not their fault. But due to their un-ending string of bad decisions (Harbaugh, Dez Bryant, Parcells, Pat White, Sparano, Henne, Colombo, etc.) it’s going to appear like another monumental fuckup for the Dolphins.
What a way to start the year.
ill wait until we draft a guard with the 9th pick before I start drinking heavily...
but agreed, this hurts a bit… especially because the only other two guys we interviewed I am not happy with.

I like the idea of Chudzinski but he isn’t supposed to the most vocal leader apprently. We need a coach with experience and passion to fire these boys up. Pretty much a Tony Sparano, but smart.

ANYONE
Anyone else is now second best. After reflecting for the past 60 seconds since my last post, I’ve come to one conclusion:
THIS IS ROSS’S FAULT.
We should never have put ourselves in the position where Fisher could “choose” between us and the Rams. He should have simply been a candidate until WE made our choice. And if he wasn’t 100% committed to the job we should’ve taken him off the list.

Well we’ve all been waiting so long, this seems like quite the disaster in my book. I was barely holding on to the fact that yeah, we have a talented team. Now we’ve completely discredited our HC before even picking our HC>
by DolfanVince86 on Jan 13, 2012 2:26 PM EST up reply actions
In all honesty
I suspected this would happen. There were too many things, at least in my mind, that pointed to St. Louis over Miami. They have the #2 pick, have an established QB in place, and don’t have a GM at the helm currently. Not only that, but considering he’s a Midwest guy, with Midwest ties, as long as the team doesn’t move to LA, that would be his destination.
I’m pissed, don’t get me wrong, but part of me expected it to happen as such.
That said, we move on and get someone else. We’re not exactly talking about Vince Lombardi here.

IF Ross was going to fully back Ireland
Then he should have fully backed Ireland. He should have gone after a “hot up and comer”.
This is a backwards and idiotic move and I know that in a week or two we’ll have a nice press conference announcing a “hot up and comer” but the fact is he’s second fiddle to Fisher and the team knows that.
Look how we started this year with our “lame duck” coach. The players loved Sparano but they didn’t give him their 110% because they know the ownership wasn’t committed to him. The players are human and they know that whoever we bring in wasn’t our top choice.

10 years ago, being the head coach of the Miami Dolphins would be an honor for any coach and a job that they’d surly jump at. It’s just not the case anymore. Between Ross’ weirdness and the team’s lack of success over the past decade, who could blame them?

The thing is, nothing has changed regarding that during this whole saga
I mean it was pretty clear from the beginning that Fisher wasn’t going to get total control in Miami, especially if that statement about Ross being committed to Ireland is true. Jeff Ireland really, thats who we want to stay loyal to, Jeff F****** Ireland, he would be fired at EVERY other NFL team by now except the worse run organization in the NFL.
Fuck Fisher's greedy ass...
He is coming to Miami next year so I will be smiling when we help his ass to another top 5 pick. I applaud Ross for sticking to his guns, and not giving in. Sounded like a spoiled brat. Now at least we know that this hold up was all about power. From everything I heard, Fisher was terrible with personnel, so we’ll see. I am confident they fill find someone young and hungry that will give this team their full attention and not worry about player moves. Phins till I die, and screw everyone that doesn’t want to be here. Onto the next one. Let’s go ladies and gentlemen. Let’s stand together and show the rest of the NFL that we won’t let one man’s decision derail our hopes of turning this thing around. Oh, and by the way, congrats to Fisher for taking over a team in the Easiest division in football. That spoke volumes about his character. I’d rather have someone that wants, and willingly accepts the challenge ahead!

So know we have to go to basically our bottom of the list coaches
Whom are mostly coordinators which will make it difficult for them to put together a coaching staff, and Miami continues to be the stage for coordinators who would like to attempt to be a head coach
