Interesting article. Basically, there are whispers of Jets "sources" who want Peyton Manning to "lead" the Sanchize. I can't blame them, honestly. However, my head will explode into a thousand pieces if Tony Sparano goes to New York and then they get Manning on top of that. We've been reading it all year long on thePhinsider; Peyton Manning is the wildcard. If Ross knows New York is going to make a play for Manning, and we don't try to block the situation at all, I've lost all faith in humanity as a whole. We need a coach ASAP, in order to establish some credibility. The NFL is progressive and gets "faster" everyday. There is no more "offseason." Teams fire a coach and are on the horn with potential candidates in the same breath. Bring in a credible coach, now, and let's start figuring this whole thing out. I understand some of our coaching candidates are in the playoffs, but that didn't stop Penn State (Go Lions!) from going out and snagging O'Brien from the Pats last week. Let's get a game plan, and iron everything out. There are so many avenues this team can go it's ridiculous. Do we draft a RT in attempts to lure Manning? Do we go after Flynn? Do we trade our souls for RGIII? Do we call up Ray Lucas and ask him if he wants the starter job only to tell him at the end of the conversation that he was awful and we were just kidding? So many questions, so little time.
Thought the article was interesting, and it definitely raises some eyebrows. Take it for what it's worth, even if it's nearly improbable that Peyton goes to the Jets, it's still worth a smile to know the Jets are turning on the Sanchize.
