Need OLINE Help ASAP !!
Well, we are one week away from the HUGE monday night matchup vs the Patriots, and yet the OLINE is still in "flux". It's time (past time really) that this FO team found the right mix on the Oline... Look - i'm not trying to be critical here - but why are we not signing some of the Vets out there - Brian Waters (G) for one... ?
What are they waiting for ?
Anyone who thinks Colombo is the answer at RT - has not watched the games.... Carey at RG ? another question mark..... I understand why we kept John jerry - it just shows how think we are on the line - b/c Jerry should have been cut for his poor performance.... but we don't have much else right now.
We really should try and trade Phillip Merling for some OLINE or TE help - as lots of folks have said on here. I for one have wanted Merling traded for a long, long time. We are just too deep on the DL - and too thin at TE and OLINE...PLUS - WE WILL NEVER RESIGN HIM NEXT YEAR....the same way we should have tried to trade Ronnie last year and got some small value out of him.. Here are a few of the players i would bring in for a look right now...
OG Max Jean-Gilles, TE Desmond Clark
G - Mike McGlynn, Jordan Black T, George Foster T, Stephen Schilling G/T,
But the talent is pretty thin out there - which is why we to try and trade for someone decent...just don't trae away the future with a high pick... please trade some of our surplus players like Merling, someone off the D-line....
And PLEASE no more Cowboy castoffs !

it no good o line man in free agency
No team ever trade a good o line man unless he ask to be traded. Lets just hope Colombo step it up
WE WINNING THE SUPERBOWL DON'T MATTER IF HENNE SUCK DON'T MATTER IF REGGIE NOT A FEATURE BACK DON'T MATTER IF WE NEED A BETTER TIGHT END DON'T MATTER IF COLOMBO SUCK DON'T MATTER IF WE NEED A BETTER SAFETY DON'T MATTER IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE

I agree with you on this
You don’t trade lineman, their just too damn valuable
Chad Henne is the man
Is anyone out there really an upgrade?
Maybe Sparano can get Columbo back to playing well. We’ll find out soon enough.
So I have been thinking about our O-line a bit lately...
I was thinking about how Columbo has the same weakness that Carey had as a RT, but I don’t think he is as bad as Carey was personally. Their main problem is they do not match up well against a speedy OLB or an athletic D-lineman. However, I do not see either of our main rivals having either.
Think about how moving Carey inside is going to help if they need to double team Wilfork or Haynesworth? I am not sure how they are going to play in the season, but I have heard they are going to be a hybrid 3-4/4-3 defense meaning Wilfork will line up at NT and Haynesworth will line up at DE, or they will both line up at DT. In both cases Carey is there to help with the double team, and since he is inside there will be no one going around him on the outside on a speed rush. We would all love a complete G that can pull, but we are going to have to settle for getting one in next year’s draft(you know we will do that next year if everything else works out).
We moved Jerry out to RT, which I think will ultimately be his best chance of staying on this team and starting. I think he is a more natural RT than RG, because he is just too big and clumsy to play in the phonebooth that is RG. He will be able to get wide easily and stop those speedy OLBs which we will no doubt face at some point in the season(but not in the first game against NE).
Prove everyone that said you weren't a franchise QB wrong, Henne. "WE WANT HENNE!!" GO PHINS!! What can I say I am a homer, I have come to terms with that and accepted it. I predict 10-6 and a wildcard berth. Jets got worse this year when they lost Ellis to the Patriots. The Patriots are going to be more solid on defense this year than they have in the past.
Pats signed BRIAN WATERS
Look for hiom to be a solid player for the pats … huge mistake by our FO here…Waters has enough left in the tank to really help us for a year or two…. I would have signed him and moved Carey back to RT…getting rid of Colombo
41 Year FIN FAN
Franchise QB... NOW !!! ...Draft Ryan Mallett ...Draft some Freakin speed for a change. WR & RB speed kills......
