San Diego Will Determine Sparano's Destiny...

I say this because at 0-3 you should be as desperate as you can get as a NFL football coach.  By this point, if I was a coach, I'm going to game-plan like I've never game-planned and act like this next game is the Super Bowl!  Think about it, you're 0-3, you've been give a few seasons to really do something and the last few have been horrible.  Fans are calling for your head. You used the off-season to make a few moves and bring some sizzle and yet you're 0-3. Yet, 0-3 is still early enough in the season to sustain whatever morale you still have and possibly keep your job. At this point, you need to exercise all options.  If you have a bye week after this game and you know that losing could possibly be your job, then you need to BRING IT this game!  The way Miami played versus the Patriots (offensively) is what I think could bring 9 or 10 wins.  San Diego will show you whether or not Sparano will keep his job.  Here's what you are to look for to see if he gets it:

Star-divide

1.  The offense is attacking.

If the offense looks like it's merely just trying to maintain a lead and Sparano isn't trying to stick it to San Diego, then expect Sparano to be gone.  In the red zone there are too many things not happening that show there isn't an attack.  There needs to be more creativity and execution, more deception and intellect in the playcalling.  I'm not seeing that.

2. The correct usage of Reggie Bush

Let's be honest, Reggie Bush isn't a workhorse running back.  That doesn't mean he can't be used every down, the two are mutually exclusive--despite the myth that you need a back to be a bruiser.  Sure, Thomas is really doing it big and I think you have to use him the way he's being used but you have to stop sending Bush up the middle all the time! I understand that defenses are looking for him to go outside but look at how the Raiders use McFadden and how the Eagles use McCoy.  They are used more on power-o's and off-tackles when running downhill and between the tackles; this allows them to bounce it outside easier (if necessary) and they are also given a fair share of sweeps and tosses to keep the defense honest..  They are the same size and type of runners (rely more on agility than power) as Bush and that's fine you don't have to have a Michael Turner to be effective.  Don't forget Bush is a receiving threat also, so if you don't see a screen or two (or just passes into the flats) to Bush (or Slaton) then Sparano isn't really going to make it; he's not smart enough to coach this team.  He'll need to admit he doesn't know how to utilize a back like Bush and go find a job somewhere else.

3.  Offensive line is better.

I think it's improved for the running game but it looks horrible in regards to giving Henne some protection.  If Henne can get a little more time then he should have the ability to make better decisions.  A bad offensive line is a part of the reason a QB may throw a bad pass or even a pick because he's panicking.  Don't get me wrong, I think some blame falls on Henne but you're not helping the dude if you're not giving him time...

4.  Defense starts bringing some heat

I've seen very little creativity as far as blitz packages go and if there aren't any sacks or if there isn't any pressure then you can be sure the Dolphins will lose this game and the coach needs to catch a boot.  I know, I know, there's a DC for that and Nolan is responsible but ultimately, this falls on Sparano. He shouldn't be satisfied until he sees something changing in practice. This game is a decision game and if Sparano knows that but still wants to play it conservative and safe--despite the talent on this team--then he doesn't deserve the job.

Thats alot of things that need to happen, and i have sad news: it wont.

Unfortunately bore-ano isnt going to figure it all out in one game.

And as soon as we do start to really lay it on a team, he’ll just yell at daboll for not calling enough run plays.

I'm not saying all these things will be 100% great...

but they should be at least showing improvement. But I think you are right…they won’t.

I don't think it is either...

I should’ve made that clearer. I was just saying these things changing would show that maybe he gets it…

I don't think the Chargers game will determine Sparano's fate

I think even if you lose he will keep his job. Between the shortened off-season and a new OC the Dolphins won’t cut him loose this early.
