Why return?

Since all the posts here including mine are about chopping heads this one will be a change of pace.

This year Miami and other teams around the NFL are dealing with the new rules about kick offs and it seems like the whole mentality has changed.  It used to be that if you were in the end zone your buddy would wave to you and tell you to kneel.  Thus the team would get the ball at the 20 yard line and start their drive.

This year it seems they moved the ball up closer to the end zone to discourage returns only to find more returns out of the end zone.  But is this a sound strategy?  Well... not for the Dolphins.

This year they have returned 7 kicks out of the end zone and all by Clyde gates.  Three more have gone for touch backs but unfortunately I can't tell if they were kneel downs or out of the back of the end zone.

Out of the 7 returns the average return (before penalties) is the 19.85 yard line.  After those dreaded penalties the average field position is 14.33.  And only one return made it past the 25 yard line.  I believe someone should tell this kid to sit down.
