Well,....that sucked ass. I mean really,...we are dissecting everything, but this is my question. How does the D keep them in check most of the game, then play so flat when the game is on the line. Did Cleveland "figure it out" just before that drive ? Offsides,...on a 3rd and 10 !!! Come on Man,....you're better than that JT ! I could continue......
Moving on,....I am always so fired up and,....optimistic when heading up for a Dolphins road trip.
As most of you know we hit the A Christmas Story house. From there we stayed the night with Tanya's cousin. Always good to she her and her family. Early Saturday we headed into Downtown and went the Rock and Roll HOF.
I love rock music. Classic rock, 80's hair metal, Elvis, Beatles, Zepplin, Motown, alternative,.....if its rocks, I'm into it. Now you can only take photos in the lobby and not in the museum galleries. I love the Ramones and this was in the lobby !
On Saturday afternoon we had lunch with some other DolFans and we bumped into Dennis the teams photographer ( I recognized him from the homes games ). We chatted a bit, and I noticed he was rocking some hardware,...Miami style.
Moving on to Saturday night. The whole Phinvaders things was loosely planned and the organizer wrecked his car and didn't make the trip. Nobody had a clue was to what the plans was for tailgating in the morning. If you know me you know,....if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. That's when I got the word out for a 7:30 roll out time while bunch of DolFans gathered at The Cadillac Ranch ( knowing damn well that 7:30 real means 8AM). People were having a good time.
It was here we bumped into Omar Kelly. Now I don't read his articles or listen to him on the radio, but if I'm correct he's hard on the Dolphins. I don't pay it any attention,...that's his job. To nit pick, be critical,...because "if it bleed, it leads". Bet your ass I asked for a plug for the DCC, he replied "e-mail me". And,....you can bet your ass I will ! I just wish I could "really" type, because hunting and pecking my way through all this is tiring to say the least ( a nap will be in order after I post this ).
Dwight worked the grill, I met him last year in Cincy. He's from NJ (40 minutes from the stadium) and I'll be meeting up with him and his girl again in a few weeks. He's a nice guy and called me the "the glue" for making this happen in Phinvader Bill's absence. I don't know about all that,....
We were having a grand ol' time when I started painting my hands to complete the "look". I looked over and this kid was standing kinda close staring at me like him wanted something. I fired off " you want some paint ?". With that little kid grin, "yes". Game on !
( her Mom looks proudly on,.....funny)
Before the camp broke to head into the game I gathered all DolFans in the area for a group photo ( just noticed where my little man with the paint was in the pic. Not by Mom or Dad, but front & center. I like his style. )
Ya know, throughout the day I got compliments from different Browns fans on my 'look". But returning to the car,...there is always that one idiot,.....and his buddy. Man oh man did he lay into me. I get it, their town, their team, and there're passionate about them. Some people just want to be dicks and I'm not about to go to jail for teaching him a lesson in manners. Women, kids, and a tons of browns fans listened to him verbally abuse me, while I said next to nothing. The only thing that came to mind was a Pantera song,....Five Minutes Alone ! Just then I was put at ease when other a couple other Browns walked by and said "he doesn't represent most Browns fans". As a matter of fact all weekend and tailgating before the game the group and myself had no problems.
Good times, just a heartbreaking loss. Better days are ahead, or at least warmer for us as we head to Florida soon.
