Miami Dolphins Make First Roster Cut - Waive Tight End Dedrick Epps

Stay connected for news and updates

Let the madness begin.  The Miami Dolphins have waived tight end Dedrick Epps to begin the roster cuts necessary to meet the NFL's 53-man roster deadline by tomorrow.

A seventh round draft pick out of Miami by the San Diego Chargers back in April 2010, the Dolphins signed Epps last September after being released by San Diego.  He spent all of last season on the Dolphins' practice squad.

The roster move was first reported by the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero via his Twitter account.

The move is seen by many as another sign of disrespect toward the Hurricanes and their fans by the Dolphins.

Epps had 2 catches for 35 yards, both resulting in Miami first downs, during the preseason.

Epps is eligible for the practice squad, assuming he clears waivers.
