2008 was a magical season, we were returning from the worst season ever and had very little expectations for the team. Really all we wanted was to win a few games. We had very little talent and even less hope. So how did it happen and why can't we seem to do it again?
Well we had a QB that made few mistakes, the wildcat took teams by surprise and somehow 3 yards and cloud of dust equaled a first down.
Turnovers: You can say this is not a new revelation but we won the turnover battle hands down. Just look at the Houston game. Henne has an interception that ended up being 7 points. Thomas fumbles the ball as we crossed into Houston territory.
O-Line: Somehow the patchwork offensive line we came up with got the job done. They were the biggest reason this offense succeeded. We had a reject QB, our best WR's were Ginn and Camarillo and our RB Brown was coming back from a season ending injury.
What have the Dolphins done since this memorable year. We improved the defense, improved the WR's and this year Henne has become an asset instead of a liability yet we still can't win.
Our top three problems are O-Line, O-Line and O-Line and we won't start winning until that gets resolved. Whoever is picking the players Ireland, Sparano or both need to be fired!!!!! Besides Long and they have yet to pick up a good offensive lineman (Pouncy has yet to prove himself). And for that matter whichever IDIOT thought that left tackle is more important than QB for a team with NO quarterback should have been fired long ago.
So far one down and two left. This league is about players... you either have them or you don't... these guys have made sure our o-line is garbage. Every time they make a change it gets worse.
