*NFLDraftScout.com worked with an NFL general manager the morning the 2011 draft was completed to determine a predicted order for the 2012 first-round projection.

Thought this was a lil amusing. According to this I have a lil bad news, good news, bad news thing for you.

Bad news: We are gonna suck this year and pick 6th.
Good news: We draft our "franchise QB" with our 1st pick.
Bad news: It isn't Luck.

Let me say this. If we are picking 6th, you trade up to the #1 slot and get Luck (providing he continues to improve). Now that the rookie scale is fixed, you gotta go up and get him.

I also hope we don’t pick him because Henne breaks out and is the QB we all hope he can be. Not having to suck this year and the next 2 years waiting for our next hopeful “franchise QB” to develop.

the year hasn’t even started yet and they think they know where people will land. Did people expect us to pick 25th or whatever after 2007? No. You know it’s stupid because they not only have the Jets in the superbowl but have them beating the Packers.

I would actually consider putting odds on the Dolphins moving up into the top 2 or 3 next April

And this isn’t wishful thinking, either. We saved all of our draft picks when we could’ve dumped a few on Denver for Kyle Orton, and we’ve chosen to eschew other potential trades for guys like Flynn and Dennis Dixon. This tells me we are at least posturing for a big move in the 2012 draft. I can absolutely see us trading into the top spot, but that might not be necessary as long as we’re ahead of Cleveland, Buffalo (possibly) and Washington—the three big players for QBs next offseason.

With the demand for giving the top overall pick so much money teams will be much more willing to trade up into the #1 slot. The 1st overall pick has regained its value again. If we are ahead of them, you can bet those teams won’t hesitate one minute to jump ahead of us.
