Bottom line is that the only way sparano keeps his job is by winning and doing it convincingly so personally i have a couple of takes on the whole situation...first off right now i dont think henne gives as the best chance to win period i think thats obvious. however this can be seen from a couple of different angles, either sparano trully belives henne is our best bet over anyone else available including orton ( which im not crazy about coming here but if he does i wouldnt mind), and my other perspective is that clearly someone in the fo is forcing his hand and is a huge fan of Henne because sparano did bench him twice last yr... in addition Sparano is in deed lying to us because he to is waiting for the fo to pull the trigger on a trade wich might get done.
In another note i wouldnt mind brandstater be given a shot i saw some good things when he was in Denver, and Indy he even outplayed a few quarterbacks but other circumstances never helped him...honestly id rather see that then overpay for orton because its not that im beign mediocare but i do belive if the running game responds you can plug in any good qb who can throw a 20 yrd pass to his own teamates instead of the other teams players in key situations and we could win at least 10 games or more thanks to a a great defense which is on the verge of becoming an elite super bowl caliber D.
I also want to say that i think moore was good addition i do belive he can perform at an above average level. Lets remember that its about the team he might not be manning but he is solid enough that if he has a team like the miami dolphins which many of us can agree agree are a solid quarterback away from contending in a consistent basis he can be effective. Not to mention he is 26 and even though he did havea bad 2010 he was put on a very laack luster dismotivated team whos defense lost games early putting moore on a very dfficult situation, in other words he didnt loose games for them, unlike henne who had a top ten defense who kept us in games. as a matter of fact he lost those games during the most important part of the year, at home, against teams with loosing records, in crunch time, during the 4th quarter.
Finally in all do credit to our FO ( Jeff Ireland included) they have build a very competitive team which could compete at a very high level for yrs to come and i do think that most aspects of the team have worked out and the only thing missing is a qb that can be competent... we wanted speed we got speeed, Bush, Gates, even Hartline, we wanted a complementary versatile tight end we got Clay, a pwr running back, we got thomas our line has added some depth which it missed last yr and not to mention a flexible qb friendly oc which allows Henne more freedom at the line... so if Henne gets the nod and struggles there is no excuse for him weather its playcalling, or been handcuffed, lack of speed ext and, i like most of you cant wait to findout.
