PotM's keys to the game.

The keys to this game are not so much how to win as general things this FO needs to get done.

Key 1:

Have our starters not play so sloppy, this was a problem against ATL and last year. We need to come out guns hot and show what MIA's starters can do early. I know our team can play better, particularly in the running game. We need to play disciplined.

Key 2:

Showcase the running game. If you take out the drops and replace them with completions, Henne went 6/8, 75% comp%, 1 TD, 1 INT for 92-97 yards. That was a solid performance. Moore did well with 2 TDs and 1 INT. Time to see what this ground game can do.

Key 3:

Reward good plays with playing time. Guys like Jimmy Wilson, Nolan Carroll, Clyde Gates, Phillip Livas and Roberto Wallace should see action early (or earlier) to see if they are ready to step up to the plate.

Key 4:

Experiment on special teams. Try different guys on different teams and see who sticks.

Maybe. Would like to see Thomas more though.

We know what he can do, but would like to see him behind this OL. Maybe in the third or last PS game.

I might run Bush insude 5 times a game just to keep the D honest, anymore than that he will get broke up again. IMO

I would like them to come out first play of the game

and go 4 WR set with Bess, Marshall, Hartline, and Gates. Then have Bush in shotgun next to Henne. Now that would be exciting.

I also want to see more TE play. Let’s see if Clay or Epps or Brackett can step into that place and play well.

You will see more TE play if you run the ball a lot.

You can’t go in power run formations when you run and then go 4 wide whenyou pass. That is far too predictable.

If you could read I said the first play of the game

I know that 4 WRs is too predictable towards a pass. But it’s also far more explosive and that’s what I want to see on the first play.

i would love to see that happen specially

since i really believe it benfits Henne i think it will allow him not to have to think so much and get rid of the ball a lot quicker and make them game a lot simpler for him. I personally hav never been the biggest Henne fan but i do think if we open it up he can have success. Stats dont say it all but they are a very powerful indicator of things and when chad is been in 4 to 5 wide reciver sets he has had an 83.5 or higher qb rating in comparison to when Henning used to only send Bess and Marshall to run routes well Hartline too but for the most part it was all extremly predictable and dull once the wildcat died so did our offense we focused to much time on it and never really dedicated enough time on the other aspects of our offense that were lacking. Also since we couldnt run the ball we were forced to throw the ball which due to what i stated above posed little to no thread and it was acually what other teams wanted us to do.

With this short PS I don't think

how we’re going to fully utilize the TE position.

IMO, one huge key

is letting our team mold together, especially our o-line
i think we are in a good place with our wr corp, defense, and maybe even rb
we need to let the o-line gel together so that we can actually see what our running game can do and what roberto wallace can really do
now that would be exciting

I think the first game was sloppy because of that , it was the first game. They have not been in camp alot, and no OTA and all the other jazz

I hope there is a little more spunk this game, dont show any tricks but, a little more hard nose football. Pound the ball and air it out. Whats the worst could happen , Henne INT? sorry but seen that before. Get the field opened up!!
