My thoughts on Channing Crowder

I have to say him being released has saddened me. But, if the FO has upgraded that position I am toady on board with it. After all it is a business and we are looking to build a championship caliber team here. And, if you're a LB on this team you must be able to defend the pass. Something it appears Channing couldn't do with any success.

But Channing was a great teammate by all accounts and cooler than cool when it came to the fans. I had the pleasure of chatting with him on several occasions for the better part of 15-20 minutes each time. He was funny, and totally down to Earth. We talked about fishing, working out, I told him about some of my antics on the ice rink, about his relationship with all-time Dolphin great Zac Thomas, and more stuff too. Like the 1st time the Wifey and showed up at his radio show and he said he had to do a double take on my Wifey saying she was a spitting image of Joey Porter's wife. Or the time after he intercepted Brady at the end of the game a couple of years ago. I told him DO NOT TURTLE !!! Run with that ball, find Brady, and put a cleat print on his ass !!!! He laughed and said, "coach wouldn't too happy if I did that, then fumbled the ball". My reply,...." screw that,...us fans want some carnage and your the man to deliver ! " And I personally didn't mind his mouth,....he did fire up his teammates and some of us fans as well. He is a good person and I'll miss him and I wish him well ( unless he's playing against the Dolphins ).

We even met his Mother, who is from Detroit ( just an hour North from my hometown),....

And finally,...one from last year. We stayed at the team's hotel and bumped into him as we were leaving for the stadium.

Yeah, that's kind of another funny story between him & I,....

The 1st time we chatted at his radio show I said as he was leaving, " you going to remember my name ?". He replied, “I’ll never forget it, I live off Griffin road”. So, the next week when we showed I say, " what’s my name Channing ?“. He said with a grin,…” ahhh, Griff….come on man ! ". Pretty cool dude,….

Never watched the show,....or even heard of it as I don't watch much by the way network TV shows.

However, I have been told I look like the bad guy from the movie Ghost with the late Patrick Swayze. Maybe I show go to Hollywood, I just got my California therapy license a couple weeks ago. I’m sure I would get “discover” in no time at all !!! (sarcasm),…..lol

that part of Channing is cool...........

i can apprecite the fact that he is nice to fans because some of these guys would never give you the time of day in a public setting (not that I think that owe it to us).

i can just do without the tough guy talk with the so so play.. I was done with that by the time Joey Porter left….

so hey i hope the guys catches on somewhere and plays okay ….. just not against Miami.

Great guy- I've met him too

he’s supposedly one of the nicest guys around fans. He was always GOOD but the move makes sense to upgrade his position. But I like Crowder and wish him good luck to wherever he ends up. I’ll say this.. i’ll feel for him if he ends in Buffalo lol
