For all the B*tching and moaning on here, I'm gonna tip my hat to our FO.
They saw we needed a "alpha WR" they went out and got B-19. They saw we needed speed on offense, they drafted Gates, and signed Bush. They brought in play-makers on defense like Dansby and Burnett. Yes they have made mistakes, but nothing is guaranteed in the NFL.
Our front office sees our needs just like we do and they try to do something about it. We could be stuck with a owner that just doesn't give a f*ck and a FO of Spielman and Whanny. I thank them very much for this.

I agree
2 new rbs for 2011. Ryan Williams and DeMarco Murray???? I like. If we can trade down in first and get a 2nd or another 3rd *wink*
Confidence breeds success, self-doubt breeds failure
i tip my hat 2 this^
Ireland , Sparano youve been given a chance dont screw this up!

I totally agree
This offseason has shown that our ownership is aggressive in executing their plan without making boneheaded moves or anything too risky.
"Every island has a beach and mine there will be called Beast Beach."
Leading the drive for our new offensive coordinator: Mr. Dan Marino
very true
also, they saw we need help at QB and they wet after orton
Miami's Superstars: Brandon Marshall, Jake Long, Karlos Dansby, Cameron Wake, Vontae Davis (just wait), Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Mike Stanton, Gaby Sanchez, and Hanley Ramirez. :)
something else will happen at the qb position...they know we need the help like you said
we just now need to find the best match…they wont risk their jobs on henne or matt moore…im sorry that’s not going to happen…they were still negotiating with Kyle Orton’s camp at 4 pm yesterday….thats a few hours after the matt moore signing…we aren’t done yet and he wouldnt be allowed to report to camp until the 4th anyway…
We might not get Orton but at least we don't reek of desperation
I would have to pop a cap in somebody @ss if we gave Philly our 2nd rd pick, Vonte Davis and gave Kolb 25 mill guaranteed. Now thats desperation.

Neo you and I have never agreed more
I know Ross’s BS on Sparano trying to get Harbaugh still rackles with me and others here, and I know the FO (Pat White, Pat Turner, a few others) has made bad mistakes—they all do, even the Pats, Steelers, and Colts—and I know Sparano had messed up the OL last year (even though that is his specialty, but I think he admitted his mistake), but maybe Ross has learned a thing or two and clearly he really does (despite my own bitching about him) give a crap (don’t know about JLo and the others though).
Getting Bush is a good thing even if he is NOT the feature back, and getting Burnett was great (still hope they can bring back Crowder for run-stopping, though). I suspect they are not done getting the parts (if they get Zach Miller I will be ecstatic! If they get Todd Heap I will be glad…Fasano needs a TE mate, Shuler and the rest do not inspire!), and also would be great if they got some OL help (the best guys—Clabo, Gaither, Dahl are gone, though)…still like Carey but he ain’t what he used to be.
Anyway, Neo, I am thrilled you are sending a message about all the whining on here! I am sick of it as well!

agreed, rec'd
while we may have giant ? marks in our heads about some of the moves they made so far, we need to believe that there is a plan in place and wait to see it come together. I still think they have something “big” brewing on the offensive side, and we need to show a little patience until all the pieces are in place. If we’re 4 or 5 games in and it’s a clusterf*ck, then I’ll lead the bitchfest parade! so thank’s neo , between you and tex , a little calm is being restored.

I agree with you bro.
Im just scared that Burnett is a “one hit wonder”, prollay not but it could happen.. Only one year to go off of, ya know?
I like our owner, he will spend to win. He done bad with that flight thing trying to get Harbaugh, but at the end of the day, it seems like he is almost making the FO pull the triggerf on some players, especially ones he likes

we cant go out forking millions of dollars on a play that MIGHT be a slight upgrade from henne… i think orton would be a better QB than henne in our system but QB is not the only hole on this team. if we put playmakers around henne.. like this FO is doing… it is going to force henne to be terrible.
a couple more playmakers i will help henne. id much rather fork over millions of dollars on multiple players (zach miller, another lineman, and a vet RB) will benefit this team more than acquiring orton.
U need to realize that nothin matters in regards to wr, rb, te without a good qb, if u have the best wrs and a shitty qb it wont matter, u need to have the guy make the right reads, n the right throws, henne cant do that, im a broken record but the only person available who an is orton, and hes done it well with half of our talent

Mark Sanchez also
Even though he hasn’t won the Superbowl yet. He’s been to back to back AFC championship games.

Trent Dilfer was a 1st round pick
played great in the playoffs that year which NO ONE talks about, and had arguably the best defense to ever play in the NFL. He’s the exception, not the rule.

but for real. if you think orton is going to put us over the top you are an idiot
i think he is better than henne and can possibly give us a couple more wins, but take us too the superbowl with us still have some holes? save the money, try henne out… no one can predict the future whether you think you can or not, no one knows how well henne can play this year, if he doesnt pan out then get a QB through the draft.
i like orton, but im not about to throw in all this money for a guy that is a SLIGHT upgrade. we have other holes that will benefit us more than a slight upgrade at the QB position.
will more playmakers that put less pressure on henne to win games for us. hopefully with our top 5 defense we wont need henne to win games for us.
Until they get a good QB none of this really matters.
They’ve had 4 years to do so.

IDK
Its better to have this when we get a good QB, than to start putting together this team after we get a good QB. The FO has addressed every position of need. They have addressed the QB position, (can’t help it if CP can’t keep his shoulder taped in place). They keep firing shots in the dark they are liable to hit something sooner or later.

Sure It’s good to have a good team before getting a QB. It improves his chances. But the lesson from this last decade is that you need to have a qb if you want to be a winning team.

you need to have a qb if you want to be a winning team.
You also need good drafts and key FA pick ups. That is unless you have a Peyton Manning. I learned that this past decade too.

Unfortunately, good QBs aren't exactly thick on the ground.
There are only so many of them. There are 2 ways teams react to that. Go out and spend a lot of money on somebody you know isn’t really worth it, but hope might be just good enough. Or build the rest of your team, stack talent and/or picks, and be ready to pounce when the right QB comes along.
We’re doing the latter, and I like it.
Puzzled.
Also There’s nothing wrong with building a team around a qb. St Louis and Detroit are two teams doing so. They are better off than us if there qb’s stay healthy.

Don't get me wrong I would love to have the QB already in place
Who wouldn’t? But you got to fill positions as they present themselves. Also the better the team, the less great your QB has to be when you get him,

Detroit created a injury prone QB by not grabbing a quality LT in that draft.

I think Ireland has improved drastically since Parcells left
No ‘big brother’ looking over his shoulders.
Well said, Neo.
There have been mistakes along the way, the last one in my memory being the panic-play for Harbaugh in San Fran with Ireland along for the ride.
Honestly, I think the FO did a solid job this last week. I’m GLAD we didn’t get Orton. No disrespect to him, but he would have created a QB controversy, salary cap issues and other problems and he really isn’t that great of an upgrade over Henne (How many times did he lift his team to the playoffs versus choking out consecutive losses to finish a season? He’s not much better, people). I think our defense is top 5 caliber. I think that Henne will have NO excuses this year. The offense has playmakers for Henne to use. Its his team to lose. Period. Let the guy do his job and maybe some of you so-called “experts” will be surprised.
Obviously, we have to see how these players perform when it counts, but thus far, I like what the FO has done. And I have been extremely harsh on them for the last couple years. EXTREMELY harsh.
When all is said and done…they KNOW what they are trying to do and why they’re doing it. We as spectators only think that we know better. Its easy to sit here and complain about moves and signings or non-moves. Its easy to lose heart. The sad truth is that if ANY of us knew better and had the drive and determination that the pros do, then we would be doing their job, not them. Thats a fact. Many of you here are not as knowledgeable as you like to think you are. Some of you who are need to get all the facts before criticizing, and if you aren’t on staff in Miami, then you don’t have all the facts.
Some of you fans need to check yourselves…seriously. While I appreciate your passion for the team and desire to see them succeed…you have to apply that passion to the team that currently exists, not to the team that you want to exist. How do you think you’d perform if you hadn’t walked into the gate yet all the fansites were trashing you? SUPPORT YOUR TEAM. Certainly speak your mind…i’m not saying that…but declaring us a candidate for the “Andrew Luck Sweepstakes” isn’t just overly-dramatic, it makes you sound like a quitting knucklehead.
Just food for thought.
I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father reeked of elderberries. Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time.

We need stability at the FO
Which is why I hated the idea of a rebuild after last year. Look at our D now, it will be Top 5 this year, we were 6th last year. Now it’s our offenses turn to step up and this FO has been active in getting the players we need. Even if Henne doesn’t work out, it’ll just be one piece (I know the biggest) missing, then the whole team like 3 years ago. These guys have built a VERY solid team, lets give them time to finish the job.
