All is not lost at QB ...

I have always been a big picture kind of guy so like most of you I'm some what upset that Orton trade fell through and we went and signed Matt Moore instead. What does this mean? To be honest not a lot .. Let me Explain my thoughts below..

Without Orton it means we are going with Henne for another season .. is this such a bad thing? To some yes because we all saw last season and his simply did not preform up to our expectations but on the other hand this is a new season and he still is a young QB learning the game.

Possible Outcomes:

  • Henne becomes good-to-great and leads us to the playoffs. No picks lost and no more stress for that elite QB
  • He FAILS or is simply average. We can move on with 100% certainty that we need a new QB and no more questions.

If you look towards next years draft we as a team are in a great position as there are really not that many teams that have a huge need at QB.

The teams that do have a need or may after this season include Buffalo, Browns, Raiders, Washington, and Seattle. The truth is that number maybe smaller or slightly bigger depending on performance this season.

The reality is there will be three studs coming out in next seasons draft with Landry Jones, Matt Barkley and Andrew Luck and we will have a full complement of draft picks if we have to move up or we will be in a position to get one(hopefully things don't get that bad)

So yes we play this season with someone who may or may not do what we want but the best part is we get to see it happen and for one I am pulling for Henne to shut up everyone including myself. If not well we are IMO in a perfect position to get our next great QB or for that matter Orton in FA
