I am sad. No not because we didn't get Bradshaw, not because of the stare down with Orton, I feel like I'm losing a friend.
I have been a Dolphins fan since the Bears fired Ditka, and even a little before that. I first learned about Dan Marino the year of Super Bowl XIX. Mark Duper and Mark Clayton, and the only team that beat the Bears. I had the Bears crammed down my throat by my parents and friends. It was fun, but I still loved the Phins, and Dan Marino.
I eventually became a full fledged Phin fan, but had a hell of a time following the team. I would see games on primetime once in a while, but then came the internet, and after surfing reading the sites of the Miami Herald to follow my team, in 06, I found the Phinsider.
Immediately I started getting intelligent analisys on the team, and started bonding with fans. I got myself Siruis radio in 07 and then discovered I could listen to the games, so I started listening every Sunday, and that was the best year to do so. LOL!
But I stayed with the Phinsider and watched how slowly the community built. Guys like FinsXFactor, Little Nicky, Rzayo24, Mosul, Patssuck456, Husker, Neo, OFF4L and many others were cracking me up with their opinions. And all this was because Matty put this thing together to bring us all together.
I am grateful to Matty for helping a guy outside of South Beach get better insight on his favorite team. I congratulate you buddy on your job, and thanks for all you have done. I don't want to speak for anyone, but you helped me intensify the love I have for this team, no matter what bonehead shit the front office has done. No matter how this team has performed the last 10 years. I love the Dolphins, and Matty I owe you a lot man. Thank you for everything.
And now we go to Mosul, who is going to carry on the great tradition here. I am sure he will do a wonderful job.
I just want to say to the community, especially all the Phin fans I have met here that are in the Windy City, you guys are great. I appreciate all the love for my insane fan posts about the Phins. I hope one day, we will get to celebrate a Super Bowl together sometime.
Thanks for the memories Matty. Good luck, and God bless.
