We all are curious at this point as to what the new Offensive Co-ordinator will bring to the Miami Dolphins. There has been much speculation as to what effect he will have on Offense. I'm not here to answer this question but rather open our minds up to changes he will bring to a predictable stagnant Offense. These changes are going to effect of coarse "our" offense but they will effect the team as a whole, beginning with individual play of each peice of the puzzle if you will, the overall ebb and flow of each game and how teams decide to defend the Miami Dolphin Offense.
Coach Ryan will make the Miami Dolphins a better team....No, Not our portly highly vocalized nemisis to the North. But rather his brother Defensive Coordinator of the Cleveland Browns. You know, the one that Dabbol coached against and practiced against nearly every day. Oh, by the way, Thanks to the Ryan family for schematics, defensive tendicies and the overall working of the Ryan Family Defense. These are the things that Dabbol should be able to exploit twice a year (if not three).
The ebb and flow of a game is dictated by many things. We have the Defense part about set with plenty of upside and room for tinkering. There will be more shots down field by the Offense and more keep 'em honest type plays as well, should the opposing Defense not keep it honest as liked then Dabbol has the plays and the balls to make them pay. This is where the Quarterback check-offs come into play as well. Now with all that being said that brings me back to ebb and flow of the game. With a little more daring offense comes even more flexabilatyfor the Defensive Coordinator.
Player development should increase with a sharper eye on on things. As opposed to just playin with inherited talent and bringing in a few peices I believe we can look forward to more of the young skill position players start to push the talent above them in a competitive way.
While browsing around on SB Nation I decided to go over to the Browns site and was digging info on Dabbols style and any other insites that I could find. One really good one was in the 2010 December acrives in which one of the bloggers was breaking down some game footage against the Ravens loss. It was nearly funny becuase thing guy was touching on a few things about Dabbol that bothered him and the things that Dabbol was doing is what we wish we could have (too many shots downfield and not enough checkdowns). Breaking tendicies and making the Defense pay is what Dabbol ended up doing in that game. His mindset with our talent is a perfect blend is my opinion. What do all of you think. And seriously check out the Browns SB site archives.
