Jets to cut Woody, Jenkins, Gholston, Taylor

The Jests have cut Damien Woody, their RT. Next up (supposedly) are NT Kris Jenkins, DE/OLB Vernon Gholston and OLB Jason Taylor. Who should we sign, if anybody? I vote Woody on a 1-year deal with a team option (he can play RT or LG), same for Jenkins (if he's healthy), and a futures-style contract for Gholston.

everyone complains that they want young players, not veterans. then one gets released, U a fanpost or fanshot saying “Should we get Portis, Woody, Haynesworth, etc.?”

he deserves it

he gave us a decade of dominant defensive play, and he was probably the best defensive player to ever wear a Dolphins uniform. He’s a future HOFer, and he’ll go in as a Dolphin. He belongs in the Dolphins ROH, and may have his jersey retired. He absolutely deserves a 1 day contract and a ceremony (which won’t happen because Dolphins fans like you have an irrational hatred for a guy who busted his HOF ass for 10 years as a Dolphin)

I mean ... he played through the 1-16 season....

And years on being on a dominant defense with an offense that just couldn’t get the job done. You can’t blame the guy for taking a shot at a Super Bowl contender… even if I really don’t like the team he went to. It also helps me that they did not get to the Super Bowl…. if they did, I might feel differently….

Oh.... no thanks on any of these guys ....

These guys being cut makes us better though because it makes the Jets worse…. well at least Woody and Jenkins do… Gholston is being cut because he just plain sucks. I am sure they are looking at things and thining there will be no way to keep everyone on their team if there is any type of salary cap. They will have to fill those spots with someone….

he has battled knee injuries recently, but thats when he was a full time starter, if you play him just to spell Soliai, he should do well and hold up enough, plus, who’s our backup NT? Ryan Baker?

hell yeah, if he can move at all

jenkins is a beast when he’s healthy, and the big mamba jamba we need in a 3-4. if he’s in decent shape and can earn a backup’s salary, i say hell yeah let’s look at him.

not sure woody helps. happy to give JT a 1-dayer if he wants to retire a ’phin, or play a backup role for peanuts if he passes a physical.

gholston can suck it.
