The Dolphins were unable to lock up Soliai on a long-term basis due to the 30-percent rule that prevents a salary from increasing more than 30 percent. He recorded 39 tackles and two sacks last season. The 6-foot-4, 355-pounder was paid $467,000 last season, according to NFL Players Association records.
