First post greetings and a few words for drafting Ryan Mallett

Hello, 1st post here.... Been reading here for about a year and very impressed and amazed at the depth of knowlege, insight,  and of course passion for the Phins here!     I'm a 47 yr old hopelessly die-hard Dolphins fan in Texas who's been rooting for the Dolphins since watching them lose to the cowboys in SB VI......I think I originally thought their helmets and colors looked cool!  Needless to say undefeated season/sb the next year and back-to-back winners in SB VIII hooked me for life!!!!!!

OK now on to the potential drafting of Mallett.....  IN all honesty I have to preferace my comments with the fact that I am a Arkansas alum and a HUGE Razorback fan and I will be the first to admit, I AM NOT the most objective person when it comes to the Hogs, and our players, but at the same time being such a big Hog fan I have probably watched RM more, and read and heard more about him over the past two years than the average college FB fan.

I think Ryan Mallett has the chance to be something very very special!!!!   The accuracy he possesses along with what may be the strongest arm the draft has seen in years is amazing! He completed 65% of his passes at Arkansas and threw 62 tds vs 19 int's the past two seasons at Arkansas.....   I swear some of the passes he makes are just JAW DROPPING and he makes these passes EVERY SINGLE GAME!!!   The other QBs in this draft can't make all the throws RM can!  Nope, they just can't!!! This past season he led the Hogs to victories of 5 top 25 teams in the brutal SEC.....He's a winner!   Did he make bonehead passes against both Alabama and Ohio State that may have cost the Hogs the games? Yes he did, but without RM the Hogs aren't IN those games and they aren't even in a BCS bowl vs OSU!  He's a qb that's always in total 100% ATTACK MODE, and IMO he is a qb that possesses total confidence in his ability which will cause him from time to time to force the ball in to his recievers. I can think of a couple GREAT former NFL qbs that had such confidence in their abilities that they'd force passes and made headscratching ints from time to time, only to come right back and throw 3-4 TDs to make up for it... Marino and Favre ring a bell? ....    I"m NOT comparing him to those qbs only saying IMO he possesses that mindset that he can make a big play and complete a big pass every down of every game!

The guy LOVES playing football, LOVES to win, HATES to lose!!! Despite what's being tossed arounds out there he's got a tremendous work ethic and spends hours in the film room prepping for game day!!!  IMO and according to Coach Petrino he's very coachable into the next level and still possesses a TON of upside!

Is he a slam dunk, 100% sure thing? Hell no, no way!!!  who is?    But I believe he really has the chance to be a very special qb for whomever drafts him. The potential is GREATNESS, I truly believe that, and I hope the Phins are willing to take a chance on GREATNESS!
