It's Tuesday night. Time for the Phinsider's random live thread. As for the Miami Dolphins, there's not a lot going on. Jake Long has a torn bicep. The team is once again a below .500 team for the season. And, Dan Marino's 27 year old single season passing yardage just gotten broken by the Saints' Drew Brees. Rough days to be a Dolphins fan.
So, to try to get away from the Dolphins, at least for a night, here's your random live thread question:
What was the best thing you received or did over the holidays?

Ummm honestly food is always my favorite part of the holidays. We’ve pretty much done away with gifts for the most part. I buy what I want. And I finally had a Sunday off, of course one in which there was no football. Whooppee.

Poll question: Who would you have as a starter, Moore or Orton in 2011?
Since the debate from earlier today about Luck and Moore, is a one sided deal.
If Moore had a QB battle vs Orton who wins?
I think it’s a fair comparison.

I'd probably go with Moore
He has a rapport with the Dolphins’ offense and he does a lot of things well.

I got a sweet new Dolphins jacket and one of those Samsung "crystal surround" soundbars for my flatscreen
It came with a wireless subwoofer. Needless to say, people now want to watch sports at my house. So awesome.
Oh, and Brandon Jacobs’ take on Rex Ryan made this the greatest Xmas ever.

Well i propose a deal to purhaps move up into Indy's spot on the totum pole, any & all are subject to be traded.
This is not a closed deal but here we go our #1 pick + Long + Starks + & this is optional Bess or #2 for the first overall!

I've actually been thinking quite a bit about the offseason and this whole QB thing
Personally, I am too stubborn to move up, at least this year. With possibly one or two QBs going back to school this season, I was thinking we should go after Dennis Dixon during the offseason. I know, hes not the flashy choice, but he would come cheap, allow us to focus on other needs and if he doesnt pan out, at least he wouldnt have set us back too much.
The Steelers wont give him a chance to showcase anything as long as Big Ben is still breathing, and he could be a diamond in the rough option.
I also think we should consider drafting David Decastro out of Stanford, and aqquire Demetrius Bell from Buffalo. Sure hes a LT, but thats my point, we need someone that can slide over in case Long gets hurt again. With everything that is going on, they might not be able to keep him.
Decastro is just the last piece in our oline and would replace Incognito as our starting LG. That would move Incognito to RG, and solidify our line.
These moves would also give us a cushion in case we can no longer afford to keep Long on our roster.

Oh and it would allow us to trade up next year for Matt Barkley, because we would have taken care of the two other biggest needs on our offense.
Defense I would make 2 power moves. One would be to sign Anthony Spencer, and the second would be Tom Zbikowski from the Ravens. Taking care of Safety and OLB.

Except that it will be very difficult to get barkley. If we go the waiting route, I would stick with moore and get aaron rodgers’ bro from vanderbilt when he comes out. The kid is tearing it up over there.

Jordan Rodgers, I’ve been able to see him in person, and actually got a chance to meet him in person. He is a good kid. Hes still a freshman though

DeCastro would be a dream pick for me, but I honestly believe we'll go after RG3
Surprisingly, the reason for this is because Jeff Ireland is a former Baylor player, and I guarantee you he’s very aware of Griffin’s prowess.

I just dont think that too many teams would want to trade down unless if we offer something outrageous or unreasonable.
Tthe most i would offer is two firsts and two thirds. That at least allows us our second rounders to get a couple more pieces.
My problem is, is that i dont think that it would be enough.

brees is a giant compared to moore
Breesis 6’1, moore is 5’11. Brees is 220 something pounds, moore is 185 pounds. Brees is a much better passer than moore as well.

I didn’t really exchange gifts with the ol’ lady, but had a good time spending money on the ungrateful kids! They received some sweet phin’s shirts from our friend’s in Orlando. Unfortunately it’s too cold to wear it in Seattle except July Aug and Sept.
