Miami Dolphins Week 16 Game Ball

It's time to start getting the site back to normal after the holiday - and we start that with the Miami Dolphins' Week 16 game ball. I will admit up front - I never got a chance to see this game, so I am going by box score. If I missed someone who did not dominate a box score stat, please let me know in the comments below.

I have three nominees for this week's game ball.

Nominee #1 - Reggie Bush. Bush ran for 113 yards on 22 carries this week. Maybe more importantly, the performance gave Bush his first 1,000 yard season of his career, and the 12th in Miami Dolphins history. Bush's milestone also marked the first time in team history that a Dolphins player ran for 1,000 yards in the same season they had a 1,000 yard receiver. That receiver is....

Nominee #2 - Brandon Marshall. Marshall caught 7 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown this week. He gained 18 yards more than Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker, despite Welker catching five more passes.

Nominee #3 - Brian Hartline. Hartline seems to be a forgotten portion of the Dolphins offense as of late, but came back this past week. He grabbed four passes for 72 yards, including a long reception of 39 yards. While it may not have added up to Marshall's totals, the fact that Hartline was a threat in the passing game is a huge step in the right direction for an offense desperately needing a number two receiver to emerge

Now, you get to decide. Vote below for your game ball of Week 16.

get the right quarterback or a full offseason with Moore as starter

Hartline will be a good no.2 receiver. His catches are nothing more than spectacular and I hate when they say WR is a need for Miami. Davone Bess and Brian Hartline are perfect go along with Marshall. Get Moore to go through an offseason together and they will go back to their old selves

Matt Moore should be an option for keeping his cool to engineer a TD

drive in the 4th Quarter.

More of Moore in 2012!

It took Brady a 15 minute half-time break to get unrattled from heavy pressure.

Moore didn’t have that luxury and, yet, he still managed to keep his composure.

Moore for President!

Moore should NOT be an option for a game ball IMO

Played well in the 1st half, but disintegrated in the 2nd. Held on to the ball too long at times and fumbled more than once. He also was off target quite a bit in the 2nd half.

Granted, our line wasn’t holding up that well, but still he has to feel the pressure and move out of the pocket. His “throw-away” where we got lucky that it wasn’t picked when he turned and just chucked it was pretty scary. No way he knew where he was throwing it.

3 fumbles and one INT?

I think that might disqualify you from getting the game ball…. just a thought… He did well aside from that.. but that is a really big deal and it helped Brady get on a roll. I blame Moore more than the defense for letting Tom Brady back into that game.

We had [Brady] down… but we didn’t kick him. We helped him up and gave him a PowerPuff Girls band-aid for his knee. What exactly did you expect would happen when we did that?

What about me?

I think I’m worthy of game-ball consideration – here’s my stat line:

Endured seemingly endless trash-talk from a friend (who is a Pats fan) after the game as a direct result of smack-texting him during halftime, and did it all having consumed only two beers. Oh yeah, I’m looking for a new contract next season.

I'm really hoping the new regime keeps Hartline

All he does is catch every pass thrown his way……

Game ball to Bush though…..

Voted for Bush

Marshall just drops too many passes that he shouldn’t. He is either leading the league or near it in dropped passes. He’s a stud, but he’s a rung below the Fitgeralds of the league due to his inability to put the ball away cleanly on a consistent basis.

I voted for Bush

His 113 yard vs the Patcheats gives Bush has his 1st 1000 yards season of his career.. Since Reggie rushed for his 1st 100 yard game as a Dolphin Bush Halloween eve vs the Giants(103 yards) in week 8. Bush has rushed for 854 yards. He followed his 1st 100 yard game by gaining 92 in the teams 1st win over the Chiefs. He wouldn’t rush for 100 yards again until week 13 vs the Raiders(100) and has run for at least 100 yards in ever game since then( 4 straight ). Including a 203 performance against the Jill in week 15.

M&M( the Monster and the Magician) both deserve consideration. Marshall for a great game( yeah he drops some balls, but I’m glad we made the trade) Brian for the reason you mentioned. I don’t think he gets enough pass thrown his way. Neither does Bess
