We are faced with critical decisions in not only the draft but coaches and GM also. I am going to throw my 2 cents in but I am not going to name names as they change more than a 2 days old diaper.
1. Head Coach - Please for the love of god do not reach for a offensive or defensive coordinator. So we can what, live it all over again and hear its a learning process. BS, give me someone who has been Head Coach, someone who knows the position, you do not see Centers lining up as a wideouts so get us someone who knows what they are doing. Also would like to see a strong head coach that brings his own GM so that they work together to build and not one controlling the other or them constantly fighting. And do not come back at me with Sparano this or Jimmy J that, that is history, the past, lets move on.
2. QB - Well folks the chance of us getting a first round talented QB in the draft is gone unless you want to sell the house the barn and all the horses to get one, me I am not that giving. So we need to move on to the next best thing right.
3. Buy a QB. I would rather spend money than draft picks and go for Matt Flynn. He is young, he as shown he can play, he as tutored under Rodgers, its a good chance, a good try, but for every Brett Farve there are 20 A.J. Feely's. But again, not draft picks.
4. When you look at our team, we can all see the growth of the players we have. We are getting long in the tooth at some positions and at others we are just a step below everyone else.
So who should we pick in the first round, another OL, yeah not sold on that, another LB, well maybe if its THE GUY then yes we should look that way, should it be a WR cause we really do lack in a real speed burner play maker like say a MIke Wallace. When I look at our team, what I think we lack and should seriously look into is a play making Safety, Free or Strong we need a guy that puts fear into WRs to go over the middle. That would be were we should look.
The rest of the draft is as everyone else has touted, a TE, OL, Safety, DL, because if a good one is there, you can never have too many of those as well as good OL either.
The next 5 months will be one of the most difficult and trying times for this organization. We will all be bitching and complaining, about this move and that move, I just want to be competitive next year and see us positive as a board again, we don't have to win every game just be the strong team like we once were.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and here is hoping the New Year brings smiles to all Dolphin fans.
