Umm...
We’re not replacing Jason Taylor, the sack master who is having DPOY type seasons. He’s now a pass rushing specialist that helps take pressure off Wake, the player that has replaced Jason Taylor. He doesn’t have the career like Taylor, but he’s more effective than Taylor is right now.

I hope youre kidding.
Load is great vs the run but his pass rush is really bad. If we don’t get a a Qb in the draft I really want a pass rusher. Look at Aldon Smith in SF guy is a stud and just 21!
RG3 and Dwayne Allen in the draft

yeah wake replaced jason taylor
But even though we replaced him, our pass rush still isnt as good as it should be. draft another pass rush specialist in the ladder rounds, have him study under JT for a year or two, then boom we have replaced the hall of famer.

Or you simply offer him a job as soon as his career is done
He can teach guys like Misi how to transition from DE to OLB because he has done it. Brian Cox hasnt. Its already a known fact that in the offseason, Misi was studying gametape of JT, in hopes of learning the moves he lacks.
There is just some things you cant learn from gametape, and the stuff you do learn can be lost by other coaches trying to teach you a different way of doing things. IMO, the best way to replace him is by giving him a full time position that allows him to pass his knowledge on to the next generation.
Not to mention, that will be a surefire way to bring some respectability back to this franchise.

We sign him for one more year,...
That way we don’t have to worry about it just yet,…IMO

Yeah,
I hope who ever the new coach is will want to resign him! Omar Kelly said that he doesn’t want to retire just yet.
He has done enough to extend another contract to him,....IMO

id resign JT for one year
And then draft another pass rusher to complement wake in the 2013 draft’s first round, after we deal with QB, TE, RT, one of the safety positions and KR this year.

Yeah, Gates looked TERRIBLE the first 8 games or so,
but he has REALLY picked it up the last few weeks. Once he takes one to the house maybe the flood “Gates” will open up and he’ll start doing it 3 or 4 times a season.
He just really had to learn to pick the gap to shoot and when to take the ball out of the end zone.
I’m fine with Gates as a return man.

Agreed, I hope to see him be able to transition to PR as well.
Can we stop with the Bess experiment already? I think he “may” have reached his ceiling.
Bess actually has been doing well on PR
He’s not breaking 70 yard returns and isn’t getting TDs, but he’s averaging 11.9 yards per return. That number ranks him 5th in the NFL on punt returns. He’s not flashy, but he does a solid job at helping shift field position.

I've noticed that as well watching the games.
Never bothered to check the stats though. On TV it “looks” like someone faster than 4.6 would’ve broken off some LONG ones. Besides, why risk getting him hurt out there, too valuable on 3rd down.
