Miami Dolphins (4-9) At the Buffalo Bills (5-8)

Again this week the discussion post with Buffalo Rumblings has not been put up (and one from the Phinsider at their site hasnt either I believe) so I figured I would put up a post like I did last week as an outlet for discussion and a place where their members can talk Bill's if they happen to venture over to The Phinsider.

Obviously its been a tumultuous week thus far but its Wednesday already and it seems to me like time again to begin to focus on Sunday. As for Buffalo its been a rough road to 5-8. Their club is decimated by injuries (however they are healthier than they have been recently with George Wilson's return last week at San Diego and some Offensive Line stability) and their season as a result has gone down the tubes. They are currently on a six game losing streak including multiple thumpings, one of which was at the hands of our Dolphins. That 35-8 beatdown five weeks ago encapsulates what has happened to their club. In it they were further ravaged by injuries including Terrence McGee and Fred Jackson for the season as well as less significant injuries to Stevie Johnson, Donald Jones and David Nelson (all of whom missed snaps). Their beat up line was torn to pieces, FitzPatrick went down over and over and their rhythm based short passing offense had anything but rhythm. They have also suffered deadly injuries on defense. One of the main focal points this offseason was finding personnel to help their club stop the run drafting Marcell Dareus and Alex Carrington and picking up Dwan Edwards in Free Agency. However the overhaul of the Defensive End position has proven somewhat futile because of Nose Tackle Kyle William's season ending injury. As a consequence their club remains 25th against the run in Yards per game with 130.7 and 26th in Yards per attempt at 4.7

They are however a determined club and a divsion rival who possess a better record than The Dolphins do. They still have a plethora of talent on both sides of the ball and would like nothing less than swift redemption. On a week like this the pieces seem to be aligning for them to break their six game skid. The Dolphins will have to play well to make sure that doesnt happen. I am also nervous about George Wilson's return. He is an excellent player on a defense that relies heavily on the turnovers he and Jairus Byrd produce. In the first matchup alot of what George Edwards wanted to do defensively was crippled by his absence. That will not be the case on Sunday. An opportunistic secondary that saved the Bill's season time and again in the first seven games can not be allowed to do that to our Fins on Sunday.

Discussion below if anyone is interested. Also a shout out to Brian Galliford of Buffalo Rumblings. I occasionally head over to that site because of his insights and objectivity.
