I recently posted about the possibilty of the Dolphins acquiring Peyton Manning and how the community, in general, felt about this. After much discussion and a little research I'm even more inclined to try to get a deal done ASAP. I've nearly given myself a panic attack with the thought of the Dolphins finishing 5-11 (or worse 6-10) and missing out on all 4 of the top QB's (if all 4 even declare).
If all 4 were to declare and we pick 8th we still need to worry about the distinct possibility of Indy, Jags, Browns, Cheifs, Seattle, and Washington all picking ahead of us and / or trading in front of us. I'm also hearing rumors (which seem feasible) of the Jets potentialy getting aggressive and trading up as well if Sanchez doesn't step his game up (he won't).
This will go down as the worst offseason ever if we somehow miss out on a QB in the draft and can't acquire Manning. I guess the next logical thing would be to look to Matt Flynn in free agency.....
It's a travisty to even be thinking this way, but at this point every win seems to be one more QB off the board when we pick. I wish there was a way to play the 2nd stringers at this point and keep respectability. Thoughts? Comments?
