WTH?! Our FO actually offered Ronnie Brown a BETTER contract than what he got in Philly?!?!

Wow, that just clinched it. Ireland doesn’t know what he’s doing

With the 15th pick, the Miami Dolphins select John Stamos....'s brother

I probably know Judo! How many of you can make the same boast?

I don't understand.

He doesn’t know what he is doing because he didn’t sign Brown, or because he offered Brown a contract?

We all were witness to the crappy play Brown showed last season and Ireland was still going to give him big money

We had Kory Sheets, and Lex Hilliard on the roster

Yet no one with starting experience. Plus i have a feeling that they were going to hope that he would allow any rookie we drafted to take his time learning the system.

Plus anyone can admit we had questions coming into the season, if anything, we also had supporters for the re sign Ronnie or Ricky bandwagon. So it is not like it was entirely unfathomable that we offered him a contract.

And many through the first 7 weeks who still said we needed one of them

Because Bush wasn’t getting it done.

I'm not surprised he offered a contract....

And better doesn’t necessarily mean more money. It could have had better incentives, or a different number of years, making it “better.”

I don’t think he was ever going to get “big” money from the Dolphins. Remember, he said he wanted to stay here. If there was big money involved, he would be here.

Npt to mention, if offering Brown a contract prooves incompetence

Than signing Matt Moore instead of trading for Kolb, or any other QB makes them look genious. Signing Burnett over keeping CC is starting to as well. Drafting Pouncey, Daniel Thomas, Charles Clay, even a CB with a troubled past is all pointing to intelligent decisionmaking as well.

Letting go of expensive dead weight, re signing Will Allen and Vernon Carey to lower contracts, all have.prooven to be smart moves as well.

Not giving Soliai a Wilfork contract.

And...

Not selecting Aaron Rodgers in the draft.

At least that wasn’t the trifecta!

lol im just happy we didnt give him a Haynesworth contract

Or pay him as much as Ngata. Granted, he is the best DL in the NFL, but I was shocked to learn his salary has him making 20+ mil this season. That is 1/6th of the salary cap this season.

by dolphinfan4lyfe on Nov 17, 2011 8:22 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

But he has a total of $61 over 5 years

It’s just front loaded because Baltimore has cap space this year. This provides them more money in the future for players like Flacco and Rice. He’s averaging just over $12 mil per season for his contract.

Yes, but 20 mil is just a bit hard for me to swallow for one player

Even if he is the best at what he does.

Though this saddens me and only adds to the arguement that we shouldnt have franchised Soliai. He is not worth the money Ngata is making.
