I mean, now it seems like they turned it on for a few games. But, if they had beaten the hapless Browns and held those double digit leads against the Giants and Broncos, the Dolphins would be 5-4 and tied with the Bills and soon one of the Jets/Patriots, a game out of first. The Bills/Phins game next week would mean something. Now I know, the Chiefs and Deadskins are just as bad as we are...but so were the Browns and Broncos.
Though if we were 5-4 or 4-5...we'd probably end up 7-9ish again anyway.
I guess though that's how this regime has been. It's just a mediocre play not to lose mentality. We've choked against some bad teams and lost big leads against good teams since 2009. It hurts having average at best QBs, but the mentality the coaches brings is big also.
This could give a sign of hope for 2012 though. This regime will be cleaned out, which is very necessary. Look what that did for the 7-1, possibly soon to be 8-1, 49ers. And with the Colts losing to the Jaguars in their most winnable game, it's clear they are getting the #1 pick. We'll have to trade up if we want him anyway.
I feel 2012 will already be better when Colombo is released and the coaching staff is fired. Whoever we get at QB (in the first round!) hopefully works out. At least we'll have something to look forward to again after this 3-13 to 6-10 season we're sitting through.
