Miami Dolphins Center Mike Pouncey MRI Shows No Damage to Neck

Photo

Miami Dolphins rookie center Mike Pouncey left Sunday's game against the New York Giants with an apparent neck injury.

With Pouncey out of the game, his position was filled by Nate Garner, who had started the game at left guard, and backup tackle Ryan Cook.

Monday, the Dolphins received the MRI results for Pouncey's injury, according to a report from ProFootballTalk.com.  The tests showed no damage to Pouncey's neck, but he will be monitored over the next few days by doctors.

His availability for the Dolphins Week 9 game at the Kansas City Chiefs has not been determined.

I'm a fan of Garner

which means he’ll be gone next season.
In a nod to the S4L’s, Pouncey should be held out against KC.

Maybe Long, too….

I never got a prize for doing what was expected of me.

Really?

Not a huge fan of Moore but I don’t want him killed!

Against KC?

He’ll just be bruised.

Just another day in the NFL…

I think with MP out the second half

we quickly found out with him our OL is terrible, without him it is just putrid.

Even though JL hasn’t played at an All-Pro level the QB we draft in the 1st round next year will have 2 Pro-Bowl caliber OL in MP & JL.

And possibly a solid guy in the 2nd round if they go there, depending what they do in Free Agency.

Assuming Jeff Ireland is gone…

Garner was great fillin in

why couldnt this injury happen to colombo and be long term for him?

He was the only OL

to be given a positive rating by PFF. I agree I don’t understand why he wasn’t the starting RT. Even him at RG and VC at RT is better than Colombo at RT and VC at RG.

I think we all can agree that Long isn't himself...

still dealing w/ injuries that have bugged him from last year. Glad pouncey injury isn’t serious…he’s the lone bright spot on the Offensive side..

Thank God

Pouncey is alright … forget football … him being able to walk was what I was concerned about.

Long and Pouncey need to be sat for the remainder.

Long needs time to heal as does Pouncey. We’re out of it, so let common sense prevail for once and keep these two on the bench. They will both be keys to a dominant OL once the Ireland/Sparano circus leaves town.
