Dolphins players empowering us fans!

Many of us on this site have responded with anger, hate, and disdain for our Miami Dolphins because some of the players recent comments for us and the Suck for Luck Bandwagon.  I for one love the comments and love the fact that they are listening and taking notice of how some of us feel.  I guess on this site, technically, over half of the fans here are on the Suck for Luck bandwagon based on recent poll results.  As many of you already know, I am not and never will be.  If you are, good for you, whatever helps you cope with getting through this season.

I want to get back to the players and their comments.  How many days and nights have you spent wishing that you had a direct line to the coach or players so that you can provide feedback , praise, or complaints for how things get done?  Many of us yell, kick, scream, cry, celebrate without being able to tell the people who we are rooting for how we feel.  One of the biggest complaints in the world from the people who are experiencing some sort of conflict or discomfort (either good or bad) is not feeling heard.  When a person feels as though their voice is meaningless because no one is listening, they begin to feel alone, ignored, worthless.  So when people actually take the time to listen to people, people rapidly begin to feel better (i.e. therapy).  How this all ties in to my joy from the players comments, hold tight, I'll get there.  When the players started coming out and calling out fans I felt justified, heard, motivated, and most importantly empowered.  Whether the players are sitting at a computer at night and reading what we fans have to say or if they are catching the gist from a friend or agent, they are hearing us.  They care how we feel.  They care how they are perceived.  They care about winning!

Many people believe that the Dolphins have quit on us, and i understand why you feel that way.  I don't personally feel that way.  I feel that we have developed an atmosphere of losing and have lost the ability to win with this current coaching staff guiding us.  I hope that whoever Ross brings in to reorganize this mess, will be able to break this cycle of losing. I feel more hopeful about getting a new coaching staff than I do potentially getting Andrew Luck.  The team succeeds from the top down.  As important as the players are, without the proper guidance, success will not be achieved.

We need more players reading what us fans have to say and providing us with feedback.  When many of you attacked the players for calling you out, you reacted with anger and rage.  Is it not important as people to be able to take what we dish out?  Are we supposed to be internet tough guys who complain and critique without being accountable for the comments we make?  I think that it was wonderful that the players called out the Suck for Luck bandwagon.  I also loved the reaction from many of you.  I feel that every day is a great day to be a Dolphin fan, I just feel especially good right now because we have been heard.

Go Dolphins, and beat those Giants!!! Thumbnail_aspx_medium
