I want Luck, but I dont want to suck.

You also have to think that a quality coach wont want to come to a 1-15 team.

No one wants to "SUCK"...it is what it is.

To coach in Miami with total control, possibly the #1 pick and alot of talent still on the roster.
Thats a very attractive scenario to potential canidates.

I get it

I get the appeal of Suck for Luck, as a fan— but people expecting the players to be on board is ludicrous to me. None of them know if they’ll be in Miami next year, so what’s the appeal for them if the Fins get the #1 pick and take Luck? They are out there trying to win, and they want to feel they have a fan-base supporting them. So players getting upset with the Suck for Luck is fine with me— because the should be. I would never want to hear a single player saying he wanted to lose.

This article touches on the fact the players are playing for their livelihood, but doesn’t really go on to support that mind frame. It’s easy for us as fans to look toward next year already, but we don’t have to strap on the pads and go out there every week for the next ten weeks. So I want the players to keep fighting— I also want the #1 in 2012. I am not going to judge anyone who is on board with Suck for Luck, but calling out the players because they aren’t is just plain stupid to me.

So… GO FINS!! Whatever that means (for a win? for Luck?) to you each Sunday.

Since someone brought up the trade deadline.....

I have been wondering for the last couple weeks, since the deadline, how it is that Jeff Ireland couldnt move one single player off this team and grab a few extra draft picks next year? I mean, there wasnt one deal to be made for anyone on this team? Im not necessarily talking about a blockbuster, but even a d-line guy for a fifth rounder? I just found that weird, and I didnt see anyone else bring it up….

Jeff's a hater...

he knows he’s toast as well and doe’snt want to help out the next regime.
Or he truely is that delusional. That he believes his picks were all just misused.
Could be right or just a hater.
Or delusional…lol

Trades are the exception to the rule in the NFL.

Notice how many trades there were?

3. And one of those was voided. In season trades don’t happen in the NFL.

There's talk about that every year....

But the NFL doesn’t want to become baseball or basketball, where teams are selling out for next year. At least, that’s my understanding of the situation.

I guess I get that but teams should have a right to move pieces if they want. I get that there has to be a cut off but

a couple of more weeks are not going to throw the whole thing out of whack.

Yeah, I know they dont really happen often....

But at 0-6, and clearly out of contention, I cant believe there wasnt a single move to be made for a pick somewhere…

I agree. I was hoping that they would move some of the spare pieces or anyone that they did not see in their long

term plans. Hell even if they did and they could get better value for a player then their worth to the team then you have to do it when your in such a hole and have so many pieces to replace. I think everyone knows that you can get a hell of a lot more out of a team for a player during the season when they still think they have a chance to do something then afterwards when they will hold those picks for the upcoming draft.

How long do you think until the players admit to the media that they are botching games to save the future?

Miami's Superstars: Reggie Bush, Brandon Marshall, Jake Long, Karlos Dansby, Cameron Wake, Vontae Davis and Sean Smith (just wait), Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Mike Stanton, Gaby Sanchez, and Hanley Ramirez. :)

I really don't think it's the players... I think it's management.

No to S4L:YPTWTG

There is 1 problem that I have with the article and I hear it often. It’s misconception that we had an easy schedule. We played every team the 11-5 Patcheats,9-7 Jest and the 7-10 Jills except 2.

Miami-Texans and Ravens
N.E. – Stealers and Colts
Buff.- Jaguars and Browns
N.Y. – Titans and Cincy

We have yet to beat the Houston and Baltimore is nobody patsy(maybe the Jags last Monday night). That season we played the NFC West and the AFC West. We went 3-1 vs the NFC West and 4—0 vs the AFC West. We went 4-2(splitting with the Jest and the Cheats) in the division and lost the 2 game that we played that were different from our division.

For a new regime with a new QB, 1st time head coach and revamping of players going 11-5 wasn’t an easy task. Yet they outplayed the Bradyless Pats and snatched the game away from the greatest INT thrower in NFL history to knock both Jest and the Cheats out the playoffs and win the division. Not only that we were 1-15 the season before. You can only play who’s on your schedule. C’MON MAN

On suck for Luck

As for sucking for Luck goes, how good will Luck be if his supporting cast is not doing well. Then it does seem that you will go through coaching changes too. Then there also is talk that Luck might pull off what John Elway and Eli Manning did and not want to play for a team.

Your team is in rebuilding stage and there will be some good veteran starter (or starting caliber) QBs available in the free agency. Your team can pick up a veteran QB and go with him a year or two and draft a good one next year or later and groom that guy.

I have respect for the Dolphins and wish your team well (after this week of course).

By the way some of the Giants fans are having jitters about this coming game and are afraid of a trap game.

No more veteran or re-tread QB's, we've been doing that dance for what seems like forever.

If we have a shot this year, we have to take it. The only time this franchise has drafted a QB in the 1st rd, is the only times they’ve been in SB’s. I’m not making guarentees about Luck, but it’s high time to take the risk. With proven leadership in the FO and on the sideline we could do very well. To do the same old song n dance again would be futile.

p.s. You guys have nothing to fear! Accept….you know the rest and it’s not the Dolphins!

I understand

I do see what you are saying. A team has to come out of the perpetual building cycle. Your team has a storied history when it comes to QBs. Two names that just popped in my mind are HOFs Bob Griese and Dan Marino.

It will be a very interesting draft day with so many teams who could use Luck’s services.

BB, yes those are the 2 QB's that I was speaking of...

Hopefully young Andrew does’nt pull an Eli. No disrespect. Worked out very well for you guys. As far as NFC teams go, I’ve always liked you guys. Sorry you guys must share your new stadium with those rejects from Jersey.
Good luck to you guys, but I don’t think you’ll need it.

It has been a bright spot to a bad season.

Luck Bowl as I like to call it now (instead of suck for luck) has made the losses enjoyable.

You’re still “cheering” for the Dolphins…for their future. Right now the Miami Dolphins are the biggest joke and punchline in the NFL. They were just made fun of on South Park, were a punchline for Leno a few weeks ago, etc. Cheering for them to lose now would put an end to that as soon as we draft Luck if we can. He’ll have to live up to it of course, but he gives the best chance to.

Seriously, I appreciate your trying to remain unbiased on the issue, but I think at this point everyone knows where they stand, and no one is changing their minds.

Peyton Manning agrees, after all, the Colts HC will go winless

without Manning, but with Manning they win Super Bowls. So a franchise QB is far more important.
